My Son...

I sat on my bed and opened the lid to the box and sighed. I felt really happy so I opened the when I feel happy envelope.

I bet this is the first envelope you have opened... Your always so happy and positive so I hope you rub off on me soon. I hope you know that I'm happy when your happy so stay positive. <3

I smiled at the thought and couldn't stop smiling for what he said and sighed. Am I really falling for an exchange student?

I grabbed the lid and closed the box and I laid on my bed and then grabbed my phone to see that I got a text from Sav.

S: Hey Tess, I'm starting to pack for the trip. Remember to bring your onesie!

T: Okay, I need to start packing so I'll text you in a bit!

I pressed send then turned on my music and got to work.

"Pokemon! Gotta catch em all!" I screamed as I rolled my shirt and set it in my suitcase.

"Tessa! Dinner time!" I heard my mom yell and I turned off my music and ran downstairs then slid into the kitchen.

"What have you been doing up there?" Kaden asked.

"I'm packing for our trip that we go on in two days." I said in a cheery mood.

"Kaden, have you started packing?" My mom asked.

"Yup, I packed my PlayStation." Kaden said and I rolled my eyes as Thomas high fived Kaden.

"Kaden, set the table. Tessa, please grab the plates for me. Thomas, go get your father from the study." My mom ordered and we all got to work.

We were all seated with our food and I was starving. My mom made pasta!

"Tessa, how's soccer?" My dad asked.

"I'm working as hard as I can, I need to focus on getting my head back into the game and grasp my skills again." I said then took a sip of water.

"Thomas, eat your salad." My mom said.

"But it's gross, I don't want it." Thomas said.

"Thomas, if you don't eat this then you won't be big and strong like daddy or Kaden." I said and he sighed and picked up the salad with his fork and put it in his mouth.

"Honey, can't you please put down your phone for a second? We never have a proper family dinner without you having your stupid phone." My mom said then wiped her mouth.

"Honey, it's work." My dad said as he tapped away on his phone.

"If your not going to eat then please leave the table." My mom said trying to stay calm.

"Grace..." My dad said.

"Jack, please just leave if your not going to eat." My mom said and he sighed and got up from the table and put his phone to his ear and my mom sighed.

"Mom, are you okay?" I asked and she sighed.

"Just eat up, I'll be fine." My mom said and then got up from the table.

"We'll do this dishes, take out the trash, and sweep the floor. Just go and rest up and pack for our trip." I said and she nodded then went upstairs.

"I'll sweep the floor!" Thomas said.

"I'll take out the trash and we'll all help with the dishes." Kaden said and I nodded then Thomas left the room to get the broom.

"Tess, don't you think it's time?" Kaden asked.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"Bryce? Don't you think you should go see him?" Kaden asked and I sighed.

"Kaden, don't you think I would if I could?" I asked him.

"He's your son! His first birthday is coming up and your not going to see him?" Kaden asked and I sighed.

"I'll talk to Sam, he's the one that decides if I get to see him." I said and Kaden nodded.

I pressed the numbers and I couldn't get my self to press the green button but then I forced myself too.

I held the phone to my ear then sighed and it rang and rang.

"Hello?" I heard someone ask from the other side of the phone.

"Hi, is Sam Winston there?" I asked.

"This is him, what can I do for you?" Sam asked and I sighed.

"Sam, it's me Tessa." I said and he cleared his throat.

"Tessa, hey how are you doing?" Sam asked.

"I'm well, how are you doing?" I asked him.

"I'm good, not to be rude or anything but why are you calling me?" Sam asked.

"I was wondering if I could see Bryce tomorrow. I know it's a lot to ask but I really need to see him, Sam." I said and he sighed.

"Um, sure. But why?" Sam asked.

"His birthday is in 3 days and I won't be in Growsville. I'll be in Toronto then in Chicago for the holidays." I said.

"Yeah, do you want to meet at the café that's next to Price Chopper? Marie's? Do you want to meet there for like lunch so like 12:30?" Sam asked.

"Yeah, that would be great. Thanks Sam." I said and I hung up.

So Sam is my ex, we did the you know what and I got pregnant. I wanted to focus on school so I was going to put my baby Bryce up for adoption. But Sam wanted to take care of him so he took care of Bryce with his rich family.

When Bryce was born I saw him for the first few months of his life. I stayed at Sam's house for a month to feed Bryce but then Bryce started eating solids and he was good to go. It was hard to leave him but I knew it was for the best.

I got up from my bed then grabbed my purse then left the house and went to Target.

I got Bryce a little gift, it was a stuffed elephant and also some baby snacks for him. I'm so excited to see him.

I walked into the café with my gift in hand and saw Sam and I smiled then walked to their table and Sam got up and I hugged him.

"Hey, how are you?" I asked as we sat down.

"Good, it's been hard but I'm good. Bryce, come here." Sam said and he waddled towards us and I smiled.

"Bryce, this is your mom." Sam said and he tilted his head and I stretched out my arms for him to come towards me and he did then I lifted him up and put him in my lap.

"I'm so sorry for leaving you." I said as a tear slipped down my cheek and I kissed his cheek. This is my son...
