Family Troubles

"Take it easy babe, I know you want him to have a good time but just chill." Wes said and I sighed.

"I have to make food for the picnic and clean up. How can I do all this in a couple hours?" I asked him and he hugged me.

"I'll finish the sandwiches and finish the rest of the stuff in the kitchen while you go clean." Wes said and I nodded.

"You have to make the sandwiches look like little fishes and then pack all the little snacks in the bags and then make cupcakes for desert then you gotta make the decorations for the food and then-" I said and then he cut me off.

"How about you finish in the kitchen while I go clean up the mess in the living room." Wes said and I nodded then went back to work.

"Hey Sam, here is mister Bryce." I said as I handed Bryce back to Sam.

"Bye mama." Bryce said and I bent down and he got down from Sam's grip and hugged me then I kissed his cheek.

"I'm sorry we couldn't do more fun things." I said as I hugged him tight.

"I bet he still enjoyed hanging out with you." Sam said as Bryce ran off into the house.

"How's your family doing?" I asked him and he sighed.

"They've been better, my mom is in Germany for some big business conference and so is my dad." Sam said and I nodded.

"They've always been big with work, I hope they take care. I have to get going but it was nice seeing you again." I said to him and then hugged him.

"Same, I'll text you when you can look after him." Sam said and I nodded then left and got in my car and drove off.

"This is cute, but just change that color to like a mint." My sister said and I sighed.

Yes, I have a sister and she's 25 years old and she's a designer. She's married and has a 3 year old running around.

"Should we change the skirt to a grey or navy blue?" Carly asked. Carly is my sister, Remi's personal assistant.

"I don't know, what do you think Tess?" Remi asked me and I looked at her iPad.

"I like the colors on the shirt but I think instead of doing a pencil skirt you should do a simple black skater skirt." I said to them and then took a sip of coffee.

"Try that!" Remi said then faced back to me.

"Do we need to reschedule sis?" I asked her as I adjusted in my seat.

"No, I'm sorry Tess I'm designing this outfit for Dove Cameron and I want it to look good for her. She's a huge Disney star and I want to do well on this." Remi told me and I nodded at her.

"I know you wanna do well, but sometimes I'm just wondering if you need to focus on Fisher and Ollie a lot more." I said then took a sip of my coffee.

"Don't worry after this project we all agreed to take a trip to Hong Kong or something like that." My sister said as if it was no big deal.

"Sis, I know your a huge fashion designer but I think you should do something with a lot more meaning to it. Like camping or just staying home together or going to a museum or something fun. Sitting on a plane isn't fun, hanging out with your kid and husband is a lot more fun than that." I said to her and she sighed.

"Tessa, I know your looking out for me but I don't do camping." Remi said and I sighed as I got up from my chair.

"Don't just think about yourself, Rem. Ollie's a kid for goodness sake! He wants to run around and get dirty and have fun not look around and just look at stuff. Do something that Ollie and Fisher will like. Don't just keep thinking about yourself." I said then grabbed my purse and left.

"Go after her!" Carly said.

"I'll call her later, let's get back to the outfit." I heard Remi say and I sighed then continued walking out.

"She acted like it was no big deal!" I said then bit off a piece of my carrot.

"That's Remi for you. Don't worry even if they don't do something more family related I bet they'll all enjoy wherever they go. Ollie may be a kid but he loves traveling." My mom said as she dipped her carrot into the ranch.

"I was thinking I could take Bryce somewhere over spring break." I said to my mom as she looked up at me.

"You wanna take Bryce on a trip? Like a family trip?" My mom asked me and I shrugged my shoulders.

"I don't know, I think it'll be fun to take him somewhere. How's dad doing with work?" I asked my mom and she sighed then closed her book.

"I don't want to talk about this right now Tessa. He's been busy with work and hasn't had time with us, I know that but we need to respect that. He's trying to get a business deal with the Prescott's, that's huge for the company." My mom said to me and I nodded then set my journal down on the coffee table.

"Have you been writing again?" My mom asked as she glanced at the journal.

"Yeah, it's just been little things though. Just like what's been going on lately. It's coming back to me little by little." I said as I played with the carrot in my hand.

"It's not good to play with your food Tessa." My mom said and I nodded then dipped it into the ranch and ate it.

"Thanks for hanging out with me, mom. It's nice to do this again." I said to her and she smiled at me and then kissed my forehead.

"It's nice to relax with my daughter once in awhile. I like this, I like that we listen to calming music while snacking on snacks and read or write." My mom said and I smiled at her and then my dad same down the stairs.

"Hi honey, how was the meeting?" My mom asked him and he loosened his tie.

"I don't really know, Dan Prescott is a tricky person to read. What are you both up too?" My dad asked us as he took a chip from the bowl.

"We're just relaxing and reading. Go get changed real quick, dinner should be done in a minute." My mom said then got up and went to the kitchen.

"Dad, pay more attention to mom. I know this is a big deal for you but mom is more important than a business deal." I said and he sighed then looked up at me.

"Tessa, this is a huge deal for our company. With this deal we could get millions of dollars." My dad said to me and I stared down at my feet.

"Money isn't everything... I wish sometimes you would know that and I hope you treat mom with the respect she needs. Make it right between you two of its gonna get harder on Thomas and Kaden." I said then got up and walked to my room and plopped down on my bed.
