She's Stealing My Spotlight!

I rolled the ball and it rolled down the lane and I was praying in my head it was going to be a strike. The ball hit the pins and all of them tumbled down and I cheered.

"Yes!" I cheered and high fived Sav. I was in the lead so far and if Wes got a strike then he would beat me if he got anything less than a strike I would win!

"Alright Wes, your up." I said and he took a deep breath and picked up the bowling ball and threw it and it rolled down the lane. It hit the pins and a single pin was left and I smiled then the last pin tumbled down and the soccer boys cheered and I sighed. Damn it!

"It's okay, maybe next time." Wes said with a smirk then high fived the guys and I bit my tongue.

"C'mon, I'll get you a soda." Karson said and led me to the snack bar.

"Hello, what can I get you today?" The cashier asked.

"Order away Tess." Karson said as he pulled out his wallet.

"One serving of fries and a strawberry milkshake please." I said and the cashier nodded.

"Is that all for you today?" The cashier asked.

"I'll take a large Dr Pepper please." Karson said and the cashier nodded.

"That'll be $13.56." The cashier said and Karson handed her a 20.

"Keep the change." Karson said and she nodded and went to make our food.

"You excited to start the volleyball season?" Karson asked and I nodded.

"Yeah, you excited for soccer?" I asked.

"Yeah, it's nice to know that I'm already on the varsity team." Karson said.

Our school sends letters out of who is on which team if you signed up. You send in a video and they watch it then determine which team you would be best on.

"Hey Kars, what are you doing here?" Alexis asked. Alexis Kors is the most popular, richest, snobbish, and bitchiest girl in the whole world. Her dad is Michael Kors so she's really rich and she's a cheerleader the head cheerleader actually so that makes her popular and snobby.

"Hey Alexis, I'm here to bowl with the team and the volleyball girls." Karson said.

"Why didn't you invite me baby?" Alexis asked with a pout and I rolled my eyes.

"Sorry Alexis, Sav said it was the soccer team and volleyball team only." Karson said.

"When did you start listening to her?" Alexis asked with an attitude and I bit my tongue.

"Sorry Alexis, we all just came to chill." Karson said.

Alexis started kissing him then said, "do you mind freak?"

"See you around Karson." I said then grabbed my food then turned around and started to walk away.

"Wait Tes-" before he could finish his sentence Alexis shoved her lips onto his.

"Wes, c'mon let's roll out." I said then took a sip of my milkshake.

"Okay, see you guys around thanks for inviting me." Wes said.

"Nice meeting you man." Mike said then did their bro hug hand shake thing.

We put our shoes and bowling balls away then walked out.

"I actually play forward but I'm probably going to be put on defense." Wes said as he kicked pebbles around with his hands in his jacket pockets.

"Did you send in a video of you being forward?" I asked and he nodded and I opened my car door and hopped in.

"Spike!" My coach yelled and the ball connected with my hand and I spiked it to the other side.

"Nice." Sav said to me and I smiled and went to the back of the line.

"You have to play pro and go to the Olympics." Jenny said to me and I rolled my eyes.

"She's better at soccer than-" Heather started to say.

"Let's not talk about that, it's in the past now and I'm happy playing volleyball." I explained and they nodded.

"Kendra, switch with Tessa." Coach Freeze said.

"But I'm captain Coach." Kendra said to Coach Freeze.

"I know, give the band to Tessa." Coach Freeze and everyone's mouths just dropped.

Kendra is the daughter of Jessica Dexter the pro volleyball player and she's been captain ever since the season started.

"But Coach-" Kendra started to say but was cut off.

"We don't have time for this Kendra, just hand the god damn band over." Lucy said to her. She took it off and handed it to me and I grabbed it but she held on tight.

"Kendra let go of the band." I said and I pulled harder and got it out of her hands.

"She's taking my spotlight." I heard Kendra mumble and I slipped the band on.

We have captains on our varsity volleyball team and like soccer we have bands so I guess I'm captain for right now.

"Okay girls, pick a partner and start passing." Coach said and I partnered up with Sav and we started bumping and setting the ball towards each other.

"Sav come over here." Coach said and Sav ran over and I started bumping the ball by myself and Sav came back with the co-captain band and I hugged her.

"Congrats Sav! I'm so happy for you girl!" I said and she smiled.

"Alright girls, go outside and run 2 laps around the track." Coach said and we all walked outside and I saw the varsity soccer boys playing.

"Just breathe and then you'll be good." Sav said and I smiled and started jogging around the track.

"Hey Tessa." Wes said as he jogged next to me.

"What do you want Wesley?" I asked with an eye roll.

"It's Wes and I came for moral support." Wes said as he jogged next to me.

"Shouldn't you be practicing?" I asked him and he showed me his arm band and I had to stop for a second.

"Your captain?!" I said shocked and he nodded and I was in so much shock.

"Is it really that surprising to be captain? Did you think it would be going to your boyfriend Karson?" Wes asked as I kept jogging and I stopped then looked at him.

"I'm not dating him first off and he's dating Alexis again." I said then kept jogging.

"Good, because you and me are going on a date Saturday night." Wes said then jogged off.

"Wait, what?" I asked but he was already gone. I'm so done! I'm so done! I'm so done with life and him and ughhh!

"Looks like Tessie has a date on Saturday." Sav said and I punched her arm then kept jogging.
