A/N: Not going to lie. I feel like no one even cares about this story because I have gotten NO feedback... :/
"I need to go somewhere... Somewhere I can't hurt you."
The words replayed in my head like a broken record. I shouldn't have just left like that.. I should have offered an explanation.. Something.
Instead, I was lugging around a heavy suitcase heading to a diner in the middle of god knows where. I missed London, I truly did. I knew where everything was. And maybe if we hadn't left... I wouldn't have to see my family murdered..Now I was just roaming and hoping to find a spot to rest. I left three days ago, and the person I was seeking was no where to be found. I suppose I must have made him leave for good.
I sighed, closing my umbrella and shaking the excess water off before heading into the nice warm diner that smelled of biscuits and coffee.
Of course I got strange looks, that was expected. Some random girl in the middle of no where lugging around a suitcase? That couldn't be normal. I shyly smiled, not wanting to draw anymore attention to myself.
"What would you like sweetheart?" A waitress asked as I sat at the counter.
I bit my lip in thought before deciding I just wanted a small coffee. "Small cup of coffee, black, thanks.." I mumbled.
The waitress nodded and walked over to where the coffee was made.
"Well, well, well." A familiar voice said from the seat next to me. "Strange seeing you here, love."
I turned to look at him and I rolled my eyes. "I've been looking all over for you. The park we met at. Other places..." When I finished my sentence the waitress set the coffee in front of me and I said a quiet thank you. "You can help me?"
Charles looked at me as I sipped the scolding liquid. "Only if you allow me to."
I set the cup down and turned towards him fully, propping my elbow up on the counter top. "I'm afraid that if I don't learn to control whatever this is..." I trailed off looking to the ground.
"That you'll hurt the people you love?" He finished for me. "That nightmare you had, that's what set it off?"
"You really need to stop looking into my head, it freaks me out." I chuckled before taking another sip. "And yes.. Hurting Scott in that nightmare.. It felt so real. I felt like I couldn't breath. I already lost one family, I can't bear to lose another."
"I can help you, Beth. But you have to let me in. You have to trust me." He explained looking my sleep deprived face. "I can not only help you control your abilities, I can help you understand them."
"I just don't want anyone else to be harmed by my hands.." I clenched my hands into fists until my knuckles turned white. "I don't want anymore death, Charles." I whispered.
"Then you need to stop getting angry." Charles said, motioning down to my hands that were now creating a purple hue to form around them. "I have a friend, a sister. You and her will get along well." He said while standing up and slipping his coat back on and taking money out of his pocket, placing it on the table.
"What are you doing?" I asked, looking up at him confused.
"We are going somewhere where we can talk about this in private." He explained, pulling me up and handing me my umbrella.
"What do you mean.." (When you nod your head yes, but you wanna say no...)
"Just follow me, Beth. Remember you need to trust me." He said smiling and taking my arm. "Trust is key in me helping you."
