Garroth's pov

After I gathered the supplies I noticed that the sun was setting. I wanted to get Laurence, Katelyn, Aphmau, and maybe Aaron to come with me to help Travis get home. I was walking to Aphmau's house and I could hear talking. I looked up and saw Laurence covering his face with his arm and handing Aphmau something. I sighed sadly because I knew what he was doing.

I guess now he feels depressed about the engagement. He was my best friend, my brother. Why did we have to fall in love with the same person? I shook my head pushing those thoughts away and I walked up to Aphmau. "Aphmau." I said and she spun around. "Hi Garroth, oh yeah! I need to tell you something." She said and I agreed. I was wondering what it was about. Maybe what Emmalyn told her?

"Garroth, I talked to Emmalyn aaaaaaaand she said I was a descendant of Irene's." She said and I froze. "Wh-wha? How?" She shrugged her shoulders and said "I have no idea but Emmalyn said that because I have healing Magicks or something that I could be related to Irene." I was shocked and she continued "Oh and, I wanted to travel a bit more to see if I can find any books on Irene......and how to get rid of these cat features."

I smiled and said "I was actually going to ask you and a few other people if you wanted to come with me." She tilted her head slightly in confusion and I blushed at how cute she looked. "U-um, I was going to help Travis get back to the Enki Warrior Tribe." She smiled and said "Okay, I'll tag along." I couldn't take it any longer so I grabbed Aphmau, kissed her, and ran out the door.

As I hurried down the hill I mumbled under my breath "We've been going out for some time but why do I feel so embarrassed to just kiss Aphmau. I mean we are engaged so why should I get so flustered?" I sighed and ended up running into Laurence. "Oh, sorry Laurence." I said but he didn't even look up at me. "Laurence.....I-I am really sorry....about everything." I said sadly.

"Why? Why do I get everything taken from me!?" He yelled and stood up. "I don't get it!? I am always here for Aphmau while she cries and you are off doing Irene knows what! Why does she get her heart broken for you!? I would never do that to her but no! She picks you! The one who is constantly hurting her.........*sniff* why? Why does everything turn out like this?" He yelled but slowly got quieter.

"Laurence.....its, Aphmau has the right to choose who she loves." I said and he yelled "Yeah your saying that because YOUR happy! You don't even give a crap about how other people feel!" He stood up and ran off and I was shocked. This was not like Laurence......not like him at all. He would normally get upset but then just brush it off. I walked away and saw Dante come running.

"Garroth what happened!?" He asked concerned and I said "Its nothing. Laurence just needs to cool off." Dante nodded and said "Okay." I walked back to the guard tower and felt sleepy. I was so happy today wasn't my shift to go and patrol the area. I fell asleep and before I knew it, sun was shining on my face. I walked out of the tower and to the docks. I saw Aphmau, Laurence, Katelyn, and even Aaron there.

I smiled and waved and ran up to them. "Ready to go?" I asked and they said "yep." I looked around and said "Where's Travis?" Katelyn replied "He's in the cargo hold because I told him if he makes any funny moves he won't ever be able to see the light again." I took a couple steps away from Katelyn and said "O-okay, well lets all go." They agreed and we boarded the ship.
