A/N: Hello everyone, so before I start this chapter, I'd like to mention a quick change in the story.
And that is I'll be continuing this story in third person view. However, this is simply just a test-run, and I may or may not be using this for the entire story.
Anyway, enjoy the long-awaited chapter!

"Jack! S...she's here...HELP ME!"
An unexpected, blood- curdling squeal pierced into Jack's ears, freezing his blood cold with fear.
It took him a second to recognize the owner of the voice trembling with fear, and less than half to realize that his sister was caught in the dead center of a web which spelled 'danger'.
Jack revved the car engine, his mind clouded with thought after thought circling around his head like planets of the solar system; and it wasn't clearing up anytime soon.
What if he didn't make it in time? What would happen to Emma? What if he was too late to save her?
Without the thought of knocking coming to him this time, Jack slammed his entire body weight onto the wood of the sturdy front door, flinging it open with a crash.
The world in front of him was plunged into a threatening sea of darkness.
The only thing that sent Jack's heart smashing against his ribcage more than it could, was the terrifying danger that lay ahead.
A cold, mist-like fog swiveled in the air, and the eerie silence bothered him greatly.
It amplified the sound of his heartbeat echoing throughout his ears, unwillingly reminding him of how terrified he already was.
With a light patter of footsteps and a wary mind, Jack entered the house.
Another step forward sent his foot colliding with a soft object on the ground beneath him, disrupting his balance, hurling him to the ground like a scruffy ragdoll.
The sounds of the heavy, muffled thud rippled throughout the empty room momentarily, fading back into the forbidding atmosphere soon after.
Although stunned from the fall, Jack struggled to restrain his heavy breathing while picking himself up. His muscles stiffened, forehead damp with sweat, but his presence was presumably hidden.
Creee..... creee....
The serenity of silence was shattered by the deathly shrieks of the creaky floorboards behind him, as the hairs on the back of his neck spiked up.
Jack's heart skipped a beat. His insides churned. With quivering lips and trembling hands, he averted his gaze over his shoulder.

A large figure on the ground, silhouetted by the soft, pale shower of moonlight, shifted its position subtlety. Much to Jack's horror, the shadowy creature's grim outline displayed it rising off the floor, slowly, but surely sizing him up.
Jack frantically surveyed the areas splashed by the moonlight, adrenaline pumping through his veins faster than a speeding bullet train.
His thoughts were centered on calculating possible escape routes, but his eyes were focused on the burly, outstretched hand of the figure, still partially consumed by the surrounding darkness.
Jack's own hands shot up, curled into fists. His barely sufficient knowledge of self-defense originated from various training sessions of the academy- it wasn't much, but it might just be enough to fend off his potential assailant.
