Zoe's POV

It's early Monday morning and I'm in my mom's car going eighty on the interstate to New York. It's a long way from Georgia and if we wanted to make the drive in one day we had to get an early start. Stella was asleep, laying across the back seat of my mom's mini van with to seat belt on. I was riding shotgun and deciding upon which song to give her a rude awakening with. Scrolling through my Spotify playlist, I found the perfect one.
"SINGING RADIO HEAD AT THE TOP OF OUR LUNGS..."
I blasted Avril Lavigne though the car's stereo which made Stella shriek as she bolted upright in the back seat. I snickered to myself and turned the music down as she continued to yell at me about how she wasn't getting enough sleep because of me and how she wanted to be well rested for the concert and a bunch of other useless crap she didn't mean but just said so she could keep yelling at me. Two hours later, we were laughing about it. Even my mom was laughing about it.
"Did I really tell you to jump off a cliff?" Stella asked me through a fit of giggles. "What a lame comeback. Now that I'm awake I can think of much better-"
"Stella, my mom is in the car," I whisper laughed to her. We were now sitting beside each other on the back seat and trying to do some work we were missing at school but neither of us could focus.
"Hey, Wanda, how many more hours to NYC?" Stella asked my mom.
"Well, considering we've only been in the car for three hours, about sixteen more," said my mom, a bit annoyed. We'd just asked her this.
"Good God Almighty, what're we gonna do for sixteen hours?" Stella groaned, eyeballing the piles of homework that we somehow had to complete by the time we got back to school on Thursday. Missing school was tough!
"Certainly not this," I chucked my history book over my head so I heard it thud in the trunk behind me. "Alright, we've got Spotify, Wattpad, junk food, and each other. I think we're gonna make it. Listen to music?" I gestured toward the front of the car with the hand that was holding my phone.
"Of course! Play Girlfriend," Stella put her homework away as well.
"HEY HEY YOU YOU I DON'T LIKE YOUR GIRLFRIEND..."
I guess we were both in the mood for some Avril because after that we listened to Rock and Roll, What the Hell, and The Best Damn thing. Then, we just jammed the rest of the way to New York City.

Stella's POV

We just arrived at the hotel and it is amazing! We're on the thirty-third floor and I feel like I can see the whole city from here! There's nothing like this in Sandhills. It's a small town compared to New York City. It took all day to get here so it's already midnight. Zoe and I have to get ready for bed so we can get some sleep in before the concert tomorrow night.
"I'm already so excited that I might pee myself. How 'bout you, Stella?" I heard Zoe say from inside the bathroom where she was taking forever.
