A week after Iris’s birthday May decided to check Iris’s mating page for matches. This was the first time she could check because the site uses the first week to collect information on the wolves’ personalities.

May tapped the desk impatiently as she waited for the computer to start up. She logged into the website speedily to be greeted with a flashing red number 2 at the top of the screen next to the hyperlink labelled “matches”.

May squealed to herself in glee her best friend would have her dream come true, even if it wasn’t the exact way she wanted to find her mate. She clicked on the link and was greeted with the names of the matches both seemed slightly familiar but she couldn’t place where she heard them before.

The first name was Darius Canis and he sounded absolutely perfect! Just like Iris his page said friendly and kind. But his also said down to Earth, Calm and Knowledgeable a perfect balance for Iris’s excitable sheltered nature. Looking at his about me section there was a picture of a blonde haired blue eyed man with perfectly straight teeth in a gleaming smile the kind so stereotypically perfect he seemed like a model. The only other bit allowed on that page is the pack they belong to and status in the pack along with age. This is when May got her first shock, soon to be Alpha of the Blood Moon pack and he was only 19! No wonder she recognised the name!

May was getting really giddy at this point and could hardly contain herself but she had to hold on and keep it a secret until one of them came for Iris. She took a few deep breathes to calm herself down and clicked the other name, Gage DeLuna. May felt a knot in her stomach forming as she read, mean, aloof, irritable, naïve and realistic. He sounded awful, how could he be a match for a sweetheart like Iris!?

She pressed the about me link in the hopes that somehow this would make it all better. His picture showed dark brown eyes, almost black with a pile of matching dark brown hair flopping over his forehead in a sexy messed up kind of way; all clashing with his pale skin. If May’s stomach was knotted before now it felt more twisted than a corkscrew in a wine bottle. Gage DeLuna is the Alpha of the Blue Moon pack at 21 and has been for since he was 12.

May felt sick how could she have not recognised the name of Alpha DeLuna? The most feared blood thirsty wolf that had been heard of in werewolf history! It was rumoured that he became Alpha by defeating his father in combat and he’d only been 12! Nobody dared to attack his pack after that. How could this man, no monster be poor sweet Iris’s mate?

What would happen to Iris if Gage came for her? May needed to delete the page it was her only shot at sweeping this all under the rug. Alpha DeLuna might not even come if he saw her page had been deleted maybe it would be alright? Maybe if it was deleted now then the site won’t even send out an email to the Alphas? At least that way Alpha DeLuna wouldn’t come. As for Alpha Canis May could easily set that up, Alphas visit each other all the time maybe May could convince their Alpha to let Iris go with them or wait for Alpha DeLuna.
