Noah spun on his heel with his nearly empty platter. Hie eyes widened in shock. How was he supposed to fight Jay, Amy and protect this girl! He placed his tray on top of one of the other Omega's empty trays so they could take over from him.
He approached the Alpha with his head bowed.
"Alpha Gage permission to leave early to prepare?" Noah gulped he really hoped that Alpha Gage would let him so he might be able to talk to May, she might be able to fight, or he could get her to submit maybe.
Alpha Gage glanced up then back at his large breakfast and continued to eat as he shooed him away. Noah grinned and ran over to May. He grabbed her tray passed it to another wolf and dragged her out of the room.
Noah dragged May through the kitchens past the girl who had followed them doing place settings earlier who was currently making dozens of fried eggs. He pulled her round the corner to a back exit she hadn't seen before. He didn't stop pulling until he'd got her back over to the outdoor training area. The whole time he pulled her she said nothing, there was no point what was to say? They could drag her around all day if they wanted with that ankle bracelet on.
"You need to submit to Amy." He stated.
"Oh no did you see that entitled princess? She needs taking down a peg or five." May crossed her arms.
"Look this is a double battle so I can't protect you." Noah reasoned.
"I can fight her twiggy ass! She didn't even eat anything apart from some fruit this morning, there's nothing to her."
"Fighting isn't about how big or small someone is it's skill. How do you think I'm going to take out that Gamma?"
She looked him up and down as he ran his fingers through his black hair. He was skinny from the lack of food Omega's get and probably a bit malnourished, but he was lean and had quite a bit of muscle anyway. He shook his head in frustration.
"Did your pack teach you how to fight?" he sighed exasperated; she clearly wasn't going to back down, maybe she could fend for herself.
"Well not exactly." Noah raised an eyebrow.
"In my pack the women aren't trained in combat, only basics moves, defence and some tracking." May smiled. Noah stared at her dumbfounded, did she really think she could win a fight when she barely knows anything.
May began to feel uncomfortable with his stare he was looking at her like she just told him the Earth was flat. "I used to watch the men train a lot too." She muttered hoping he'd stop looking at her like that. Her and Iris used to watch in the bushes, Iris trying to see if she thought she could fall for one of them from afar, May just ogling muscles and how they moved when the men fought each other.
"What's a double fight anyway?" May asked him.
"They don't do that in your old pack either?" Noah's mouth opened slightly in shock.
"It's sort of like a mate battle. We both fight them at the same time you can attack either of them whenever you want, if one of you submits you both lose. If one of you dies you lose. Jay doesn't have to just fight me. He can fight you too." Noah explained. May gulped, what had she done! She's stuck her foot in it again.
"We have some time before they get here so let's spar a bit and I can see how you are." Noah tried make her feel better. He could see how nervous she'd become once he explained the rules.
Perfect thought Gage as he continued eating. If they won his Iris would have a friend in the ranks, if she lost she'd learn her place and if she died, well no harm done. This whole fight will tie everything up in a nice neat bow. He grinned to himself and he thought this whole thing would be difficult to fix.
After finishing his breakfast he stood and grabbed Iris' hand and pulled her out of the room as all the other wolves stood up and bowed there heads. Iris' head was swimming, May was going to fight someone, she'd never fought anyone before.
"I thought I'd show you our home this morning." Gage told Iris. Iris nodded but she wasn't paying attention as he told her about the room they were currently standing in.
"What's a double fight?" She interrupted him. His eyes narrowed and she stepped back. He held her hand tighter and pulled her closer.
"Sorry my love, I'm just not used to being interrupted." The words 'my love' felt wrong in his mouth. He hadn't told anyone he loved them in a long time and the words were strange to him. They weren't true yet either, but he hoped they might be eventually. He explained the rules of it to her and her eyes began to sparkle as tears started to trickle out of them making her mascara run. She was mad at May but she didn't want her dead. She'd met the pair of Gamma's and she didn't think either of them would spare May or Noah especially after breakfast. Gage looked around awkwardly he wasn't used to crying girls. He placed his hand on her shoulder and tilted his head.
"Are you okay?" He asked as his eyes followed the black drips going from her eyes down her cheeks until they dripped off her chin.
"My best friend, that I've spent all my childhood with is about to die! what do you think!" she shouted in his face. He lost his composure for a second in shock but then he grabbed her and pinned her to the wall, his nose touched hers as he stared into her eyes. His breath fanned her face.
Iris gasped it wasn't like her to shout at people or be as angry as she was. She felt like she was losing herself and she hadn't even been here a full day. They stayed frozen like that until Iris let out a shaky breath she'd been holding.
She tilted her head up, their noses pressed against each other and looked him dead in the eye.
"If she dies, I will never forgive you." She tried push him off her and he growled and stepped closer if possible. His body was pushed against hers he could feel the slight curve of her breasts just as she could feel his well-defined muscles. He leaned in closer and for a second Iris though he was going to try kiss her.
Instead he punched the wall next to her grabbed her hand again started pulling her through the house. As he passed a coffee table, he grabbed the tissue box from it and handed it to her. He continued to tow her along as she held the box under her arm and wiped her face with the other. When she finished she passed him the box and he threw it behind him not caring where it landed. They stopped at the outdoor training arena where loads of wolves gathered around one of the marked off grassy areas.
Noah and May stood at one side and Jay and Amy were at the other. Amy had got changed again into some yoga pants and a sports bar. She was picking at her nails while Jay was doing push ups to warm himself up. May had a light layer of sweat on her and Noah stood with his arms crossed. Iris stared at the pair Noah didn't look as confident and May was chewing her lip nervously. She wandered what had happened to change them.
Alpha Gage cleared his throat and everyone turned to look at him.
"Nobody has to die today, only kill if they don't submit. Just because we shift into a predator doesn't mean you have to be a killer." He looked at Iris and she gave him a small smile in return. That was enough for her, May would be okay all she had to do was submit and everything would be okay. Gage looked at her face she looked better with out all that crap on her face.
Alpha Gage looked back at the crowd and nodded his head for the fight to start. The surrounding wolves sat down around the marked off area and quietened down. Jay began growling which was returned with a louder growl from Noah.
