Chapter 12

In less than a second both Noah and Jay had shifted and launched themselves at each other. It was hard to watch just a jumble of fur wrapping round each other with flashes of teeth and snarling. Every couple of seconds you could hear a yip or yelp and some blood would cover the grass. Neither wolf seemed to be struggling yet.

With all the excitement of the fight going on Iris almost forgot that May was fighting too. She turned her head to see both girls still in human form. Amy was busy cheering for her mate and May just stood with her mouth open staring at the men fighting. It was the closest either of them had been to a real wolf fight. Iris lifted her hands to her mouth to help carry her shout over the cheers of the crowd.

"Kick her ass May!" 

The shout of her name pulled her out of her thought bubble and May looked over at Amy. If she wanted to get Iris out of here and back to her real mate Alpha Darius, she needed to be alive. It would probably be easier to do if she could get near Iris too and being Gamma female would help that.

That was all the thought process she needed before she launched herself at Amy. She was soon straddling her punching her in the face. Amy started clawing back at May scratching her face. It was a pathetic display of a girl fight. Soon you could hear laughter in the crowd mixed with cheers. Gage face palmed at the display, what was his pack coming to when this counts as a fight?

Three acrylics had fallen to the floor next to them along with some bleached extensions. It looked like May might be winning. The wolves had slowed down both Noah and Jay getting tired with the frantic start, they began circling each other. Amy screeched.

"You bitch! You've ruined my hair and nails!" Suddenly everything shifted her scream distracted Jay just long enough for Noah to get the upper hand and bite down on Jay's back leg hard until you could hear a sick crunch. Amy shifted into her wolf causing May to fly off her and land on her bum near the edge of the arena. Amy ran over to Noah and bit his flank causing him to let go of Jay.

May got up on shaky legs and started running over to Amy. She jumped into the air and shifted landing on Amy's back. Only when she landed, she realised something was wrong her hands grabbed Amy's fur not her claws and mouth. She hadn't shifted. Why hadn't she shifted! Iris dug her nails into her palms and bit her lip.

May's eyes widened in horror as she tried shift again. Nothing. She couldn't shift! She clung for dear life with her arms wrapped around Amy's neck and her knees digging into her sides.

Amy began to panic and started running around bucking wildly like a bull. May was almost choking her with her grip around her neck.

Amy started to slow down and began seeing stars while she tried breath as deep as she could. Jay noticed his mate in trouble and ran over limping noticeably. Jay jumped at May just as she lost her grip and slid to the side falling off Amy. Amy threw her head back glad she could finally breath. Jay sliced part of her neck as she moved into his path. Amy fell to the ground as she lost consciousness.

Jay ran at May and gripped his jaw around her leg. He used his grip to pull her towards him. As he climbed over her ready to bite her neck, Noah propelled himself forwards and bit Jay's neck pushing him off May and knocking him to the ground. Noah held his position with his jaws around Jays neck until he stopped moving, signalling his forfeit

The fight was over. Gage stepped forwards.

"The new Gamma pair!" He announced motioning over to Noah and May. The crowd cheered at the couple. After the most interesting fight any of them had witnessed.

"Someone, take Amy to the hospital wing." As soon as Noah removed his mouth Jay jumped up and shifted into his human form. He ran over to Amy and picked her up gently. The blood loss had caused her to shift back. Jay carried her as he ran to the pack house, still limping, with his hand over the side of her neck.

Noah shifted and stormed over to May and grabbed the side of her arm roughly and yanked her round to face him.

"Are you insane? What were you thinking? Why didn't you shift?" he snarled in her face. The power of his new role coming out in every sentence.

"I tried! I couldn't." May responded exasperated.

"What do you mean you couldn't? You shifted fine when you got here!"

May's eyes widened as she looked down at the ankle monitor. Noah followed her gaze and ran his hands into his hair tugging at it.

Iris heard the exchange and faced Gage.

"You knew!" She growled at him. Gage looked at her with a bored expression.

"So did you princess. You've got one yourself." He pointed out. Iris threw herself at him and began thumping his chest. He took the opportunity to grab her and hold her to him. She thrashed in his grip and managed to wiggle out.

Iris ran to the pack house. Stumbling as she went, her eyes wet with tears again blurring her vision. She slammed the door open no doubt causing a dent in the wall behind it and ran through the house finding her room. She slammed the door shut behind her.

Noah helped May over to the edge of the arena and sat her down to look at the bite on her leg. It was a clean bite not too deep and it hadn't ripped through much muscle so she would be healed by the end of tomorrow. Noah had a lot of shallow cuts and bruises and he would probably ache tomorrow but other than that they were both okay.

"Come on. We missed breakfast and it's still lunch time so let's grab something to eat." Noah grabbed May's hand and pulled her with him following the crowd back to the pack house.

"Er Noah?" Noah grunted in acknowledgement and turned his head to look at her. 

May's eyes were glued to Noah's naked form. Her cheeks flushing cherry red. She could see when Noah realised too as his cheeks went a light pink. He ran to one of the cupboards at the edge of the field to find some pants. May licked her bottom lip slightly as she watched him run. That was one fine ass that boy had.

Sorry it's been so long! I've had a very stressful time trying to move my wedding due to corona virus. Hope you're all doing okay!
