Chapter 1

May had woken up early to wish Iris a happy birthday; it was her 18th after all. So May had woken up early and ran to the pack house. May lived down the road with her family while Iris lived in the pack house because her Dad was the packs Gamma or 3rd in command. So they needed to live in the pack house as her Dad would take over Beta duties when the Alpha was away just like the Beta takes over for the Alpha.

“Happy Birthday Iris! Oh my god now you’re 18 we can go out clubbing without getting busted! You’re legally allowed to drink! You can make your page on the mating site! Ooh and when you find your mate we can go on double dates! Just me you and our mates! Oh this year is going to be so…Urgh there’s not even a word good enough to describe how awesome this is going to be!” May jumped up and down on Iris’s bed to wake her up blathering and squealing excitedly.

Iris, being the morning person she was, sat up giggling at her over excited friend while rubbing the sleep out of her grey blue eyes. May sprung off the bed and ran over to Iris’s sleek purple laptop and started it up.

“I’m so going to be the first wolf from the pack to put something on your page about you.” May grinned while Iris frowned at her friend.

“I don’t want to go on the mating website.” Iris moved over to her dressing table and began taming the bird’s nest that was her bed head.

“But I thought you wanted to find your future mate?” Iris sighed while putting down her hair brush; her hair falling down her back like a strawberry blond waterfall. She turned on the stool to look at May.

“Of course I want to find my mate but I want to meet him in person on my own without the help of some website. I want it to be romantic like in movies, maybe I’ll bump in to him in the street and when we bend down to pick up what we drop our hands will brush and I’ll feel the sparks before we even lock eyes and say a breathy ‘Hi’ to one another.” While Iris flopped back on to her bed in her own little world May couldn’t help but make gagging noises and trying not to laugh at her friends over active imagination that she gained from reading countless romance novels.

When May stopped snorting she couldn’t help but realise how naïve and in love with love and romance her friend was. How will Iris ever find her mate there are millions of werewolves in the world the chances of her finding her destined mate were slimmer than just finding a mate that her wolf agreed with. This is exactly why the website was made why couldn’t Iris open her eyes and take a look at the world and realise it wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows?

May couldn’t stand back and watch as Iris ended up alone what kind of friend would that make her? How could she possibly be happy with her own mate as she watched her best friend slowly begin to lose hope over the years? Or watch her stay as eager as she was right now up until the day she dies of old age?

May had to do something and even though Iris is the least stubborn wolf you would ever meet there would be no changing her mind on this topic. There was only one other option make Iris’s page for her…

Would her friend forgive her if she did go through with it? What was she thinking of course she would! Iris is the sweetest girl you could ever meet she gave sugar a run for its money!

Iris had dozed off during her day dreaming what with it being the break of dawn, morning person or not it’s hard to get up at that time! Now was May’s chance, she pulled up the search engine and typed in mating season and clicked on the first link. To an outside it looked like a website about animal life cycles, but to those in the know you could ‘register’ on the website by typing in your ‘district’. If a human were to try register for more information and typed in their district it would say the website does not operate for their country. But a werewolf knows that the word district in this case was code for pack.

May quickly logged into their pack website and clicked on the new member option typing in Iris’s name and details which would be confirmed by the Alpha pretty much instantaneously as he checks his email first thing and last thing each day.

When confirmed by the Alpha an email would be sent to every member of the pack for them to post on Iris’s page about her personality. When it gets enough hits the website starts searching for matches and sends emails to the potential males telling them how to find her.

By 7am May’s smart phone pinged with an email as would all other pack members with smart phones. May logged on to the site as a visitor as she deleted her page when her mate found her. Now she has to pick 5 options to describe Iris from the list. Scanning from the list she grinned this was easy!

Kind, friendly, imaginative, good-natured and naïve were the obvious choices. Iris has always been a kind friendly cheerful girl who loved to day dream and make up situations in her head where she’d meet her mate clearly showing how naïve she could be when meeting your mate without the website is 1 in a million but she just had to think maybe I’m that one?

As Iris began to stir from her slumber May quickly logged out of it all and shut down the laptop. While pack members began to wake up and pick words to describe Iris...
