Chapter 8

The truck pulled in to the garage next to a door leading inside. The large garage held several cars of different shapes and colours along with a few DIY bits and pieces and tools to the side. May didn’t have long to study the room because the door shut causing an eclipse. The humming of the engine came to a stop and there was some shuffling before a light flickered on to illuminate the place again. This time a large man was stood in the doorway.

“He wants her taking to the cells… Wait a minute who’s the other one?”

Noah was about to speak when Devin silenced him.

“I am Your Beta I do not have to answer to you.” Devin replied curtly.

“You don’t but he does. Who’s the other girl?” He grinned as he pointed at Noah. Devin narrowed his eyes and was about to order Noah to be silent until they got the girls to the cells but he was too late.

“None of your business.” Noah replied with a neutral expression.

“You what?” the man roared in anger.

“You heard me. I challenge you Gamma.” Devin spluttered and his eyes widened as he looked at Noah. Noah was only slightly built, would frequently skip training and spent his life doing grunt work in the pack. Even the Gamma’s eyes bulged in surprise before he laughed at the measly pathetic weakling who was half his size.

Noah held his head high while the Gamma laughed and looked at him with a serious expression. The Gamma slowly stopped laughing when he realised that Noah was serious.

“12 tomorrow in the training grounds; get ready to have your ass kicked kid.” The gamma laughed as he walked away laughing.

“Why on Earth did you do that? You’re going to get beaten up!” Devin asked in wonder.

“Someone needs to take his ego down a few pegs.” Noah shrugged.

“Yeah I agree but this is just going to make his ego grow.”

“Meh I can take him.” Noah was confident but not cocky.

“You’re insane, but it’s your funeral I guess. I’ll tell the doc to have intensive care ready for tomorrow.” Devin shrugged as he went to unload the girls again.

“Yeah the old gamma might need it I guess.” Noah shrugged. Devin raised an eyebrow and shook his head the guy was going to be in pieces tomorrow and he didn’t seem to see it coming. On the plus side that silly challenge of authority made the gamma forget about the extra they’d bought along.

May and Iris watched the whole thing unfold in front of their eyes. May began wondering what this packs problem with violence was I mean for one thing they’re known as being vicious and cruel but it’s another to see it first-hand what with them being kidnapped and then the first thing they see upon entering their domain is a challenge to a fight they need to calm down!

Another thought hit her maybe if they couldn’t escape Iris could fix this pack up with her kind gentle nature. No she would not think like that they would escape! Even if it were the last thing she did.

Iris meanwhile was getting flustered and scared there were huge wolves here they hadn’t seen any other girl wolves and all they seemed to want to do was be barbaric she had to admit the caveman behaviour was kind of attractive and she could see the appeal of it but she is not that girl.

The girls were pulled from their thoughts when the metal cage door creaked open and they were each grabbed and pulled out by one of the wolves.

“Don’t try any funny business.” Devin glared at May. May couldn’t help the smirk that broke free on her lips.

“What? Who me?” May spoke in a soft sweet innocent voice and fluttered her eyelashes. Noah sniggered while Devin growled. Iris’ eyes widened what the hell was she doing May was going to get them killed! She had to separate them there was no way she could get lumped in with May when she was behaving so out of character especially in this situation. May on the other hand had a different plan if she irritated them enough they might get worked up enough to start making mistakes and that was their shot at freedom.

They were pulled along corridors, around corners and up and down different sets of stairs in a very disorientating manor with closed doors everywhere, there wasn’t a hope in hell that either of them would remember the way out. Devin grinned at Noah’s idea to disorientate them to prevent escape they’d walked past the door to the garage several times now and neither girl had caught on while the whole time avoided going near the front or back door.

After walking around for so long Devin finally opened a door with a staircase leading down into a dark room. Noah flicked a light on as they led the girls down the stairs into what seemed to be an interrogation room with adjoining cells. The whole room was sterile, white and smelt of disinfectant with a table and two chairs in the centre. The boys led them in, grabbed two sets of handcuffs from a draw and cuffed them both. Devin pulled Iris over to the chair facing the stairs and sat her down while Noah pulled May over to stand next to Iris. Both Noah and Devin stood behind them, easily visible over them from their height. They stood in silence facing the bottom of the stairs.

The door upstairs opened again and they heard the thud of footsteps coming down. Devin and Noah tensed as the Alpha approached. His tall well-built muscular body came in to view and made the girls suck in a sharp breath. His hair swept to the side in a messy just got out of bed look with his eyes looking as dark as his soul. May narrowed her eyes while Iris was still in awe. The clearing of a throat bought them out of their trance.

“I said, who’s that!? I don’t expect to ask twice!” snarled the Alpha. Iris was shaking, May was silent. Noah and Devin shared a look.

“She’s your Luna’s friend we bought her to give her more comfort.” They replied. The Alpha studied May for a while before looking back at his Luna.

“Is this true?” he asked Iris. Iris shook her head.

“She’s no friend of mine.” Iris said in a cool tone. The Alpha’s head snapped up again.

“Well who is she? This is your last chance before she’s dead you get demoted and you get locked up!” the alpha barked looking from May to Devin to Noah.

“She’s my mate.”

My apologies my life has been very hectic at the moment and I haven't had time to upload but I'm off sick today with a bad foot so here's your next chapter.

Noah challenged the Gamma any ideas who's winning that one?

Iris threw May under the bus to save her own skin! I didn't know she had it in her!
