May and Iris's eyes bulged in surprise. Mate she wasn't anyone's mate the pack doctor had just told her you and your wolf had to know someone awhile before you knew you were mates.
The Alpha glared at Devin and Noah.

"How dare you mess this job up and then try pass off the mistake as your mate! I know as well as you do that you need to know them first." Gage snarled.

Noah stepped forwards.

"I do know her. I've spent the past week watching her. I know what snacks she likes, what movies she likes, what she likes doing in her spare time everything. I've basically been her stalker for the past week." Noah spoke with determination. It was true he knew a lot about Iris and May, but he wasn't sure she was his mate. He just needed to buy time to help figure this out. Gage tilted his head in curiosity.

"Why were you watching her instead of Iris?" He raised an eyebrow at Noah. Devin responded this time "The pair of them were always together there was never a moment a part where Iris was vulnerable."

Gage nodded and looked back at the girls.

"Welcomes to the blue moon pack ladies! Iris you will be sleeping in the room across the hall from me. You, 'other' girl you're Noah's mate so you'll be going home with him. As he's an omega and you're new to the pack you're also now an omega." He spoke in a matter of fact way and began to leave the room with his head held high.

"May." She said her name defiantly

He spun on his heel his eyes turning black. "I don't care what your name is you're an omega that's all report to the Gamma's mate for your duties." He snapped at May.

Gage left and slammed the door after climbing the creaky wooden stairs. Devin and Noah exchanged glances as Iris began to cry again. May glared at the pair of them.

Devin turned to Noah "Mate? Really that's what you came up with?"

"Well I didn't see you coming up with anything!" May raised an eyebrow what on Earth was going on?

"Am I a joke to you?" May snapped. They both turned to face her awkwardly staring at their feet and twiddling their fingers. She turned to Noah "Mate really?".

"I had to save you... that was what I came up with, it's all I had." Noah scratched the back of his neck.

"You better play along too May or not only is your ass on the line but his is too now. The man just stuck his neck out for you. Play the game or lose and die." Devin stared her down. May struggled slightly to stay dominant but in the end had to submit and lowered her gaze.

Iris had stopped crying while watching the exchange and regained composure. She tilted her head to the side and grinned.

"Aww you saved her that's so sweet." Iris gushed causing Noah to blush. Devin kicked himself for not thinking of it, now the alpha female liked the omega more than him! Iris stood up and patted down her dress, the silver handcuffs jingled and reminded her of where she currently was and why she was there. She glared at May if it weren't for her she'd be at home right now.

"Will someone take these damn handcuffs off of me!" Iris squealed.

"Uh yes right away just have to put your ankle monitors on."

"Ankle monitor?" May growled.

"Yes Alpha Gage doesn't want either of you running off so you will wear these until you've earned his trust." Devin stated coolly. May's eyes narrowed as the thick chunky anklet was clipped around her ankle. She looked like a damn criminal!

Iris' lip trembled as an identical one was attached to hers and she began to cry again. The men flinched at the sound. Why did it have to be so high pitched?

"The monitors have GPS and will electrocute you if you go over our borders. They prevent you from shifting too. You will be allowed a weekly run chaperoned by designated wolves." Devin recited. "Any questions? No? good!" He uncuffed them both.

"Iris you will come with me and I'll show you your room." Devin led Iris back up the stairs to her room. It was decorated in pastel colours and smelt of fresh paint, the furniture was perfect completely unscathed and unused, the bed sheets were silk and fresh like they'd never been slept in.

"This is your room; it's been decorated with you in mind if there's anything you want or don't like just say and it'll be rectified. Some of the pack ladies have gone shopping and filled your wardrobe with clothes. Again, if there's anything you want or don't like let someone know and it'll be fixed." Devin left the room and shut it behind him. Iris ran to the bed and flopped down on her belly pushing her face into the plump pillows as she cried. Her family were gone, there was no escape, her best friend was awful, and she was stuck here with a most likely abusive nasty mate. Everything was hopeless this was her life now.

Meanwhile May stared at Noah as he shuffled awkwardly.

"So...."

"So what?" May snapped. Noah flinched she was clearly not an omega he could feel it in her voice this was going to be hard. He had to assert dominance, or she would end up dead and so would he.

"Look I may be an omega, but I saved your life so the least you could do was show me some respect." He snapped back. May was taken aback she wasn't expecting him to be assertive in anyway being an omega.

"You're not an Omega, are you?" May tilted her head eyeing him up, she caught on fast.

"By blood I am higher ranked, but my mum died giving birth to me and my dad died in battle. I was too young to do anything so I'm an Omega. That what you wanted to hear?" he snarled his wolf taking over.

May's eyes widened with interest more to the Omega than meets the eye she pondered well that's good to know.

"Come on I'll take you to the Omega house." He grabbed her wrist and pulled her along. Noah lead her out of the house and through the back garden. They just broke the tree line and gone a few more meters when the trees cleared and a big outdoor gym area appeared cornered off parts of grass for wolf sparring and large mats for human sparring with weights dotted around everywhere and a huge running track around the edge. May gasped she hadn't seen a training area so big. Noah grinned at her awe and pulled her off to the side to an odd house. The house was old yet new. The entrance was old, but it looked like extensions kept getting added and altered. He pulled her through the strange house. The extensions making the hallway twist and turn in random ways they came to a narrow staircase and he pulled her up it and down another hallway. Eventually he stopped at a door, he twisted the knob and it creaked open.

"I'm sure you're tired after all this so I'd get some sleep if I were you; we have a big day ahead of us tomorrow." Noah gave her a small smile and ran his fingers through his tousled black hair. May looked at the room, it was small and quaint just a bed, a desk and a set of drawers. It had hard wood floors and the walls were a basic white colour. The furniture was well used and the bed looked cosy even though the bed wasn't made. Then she noticed the smell...

"This is your room." May stated.

"Our room." Noah corrected.

"But..."

"But nothing we're mates remember?" He winked at her. May growled at him.

"Look I didn't do this on purpose, and I'll be on the floor okay? I'm not going to do anything." He sighed. She sat and slumped on to the bed what had she gotten herself into? She nodded at him. There was nothing she could do, she knew nothing of this pack and their rules.
