Under the Moonlight

Chapter 41

We were searching for the werewolves for two days and still didn't find them. That job took more time that I thought. There wasn't any signs from the pack. They were hiding so good. I couldn't let myself to lose them and fail in the job, so I needed to try harder to find them.

Me and Luke were walking around the woods where a few hours before Sam and Lisa found some empty, old house. They didn't smell some werewolf smell, but they did smell wolfsbane. Me and Luke decided to go there and make sure what was really happening there.

"Don't you think that we can't handle the whole pack alone" Luke said to me when we got closer to the house.

"Are you scared Luke" I asked him seriously, but I was just kidding. I knew he wasn't.
"No, I just.." he wanted to tell something, but I interrupted him. I heard something.

"Be quiet" I said quietly and started walking carefully and we hid behind the trees. I carefully looked and saw a girl getting out of the house. I could smell it. She was a werewolf. I looked at Luke and gave him a sign to follow me. I waited for the girl to get closer to us and then I showed up in front of her. Luke did the same thing.
"Hey there" I said and smiled to her. She got really surprised, she wasn't excepting it. I heard her heart was beating faster. She was upset.

"Who are you?" she asked and made step back.

"Friends" I said and gave Luke a sign to catch her, so we could drag her in the house we were staying at. I didn't want to kill her yet. We needed to find where were the others.
She was of course resisting, but we could take her so we took us to our place.

When we arrived at the house after telling the others what happened we put her on a chair and I looked at her. She was pretty girl and she looked quiet relax.
"Where are the others?" I asked her.
"I don't know" she said and I chuckled.
"Yeah sure" I said seriously. "I know you know it" I said and got closer to her.
"Do you hear my heart beating?" she asked "I am not lying. I don't know" she said with a bit louder voice.
"or you are just a good liar" I said and faked a smile. "One last time. Where are the others?" I asked seriously and got even more close to her face.
"The hunters took them" she said "I don't know" she added and I looked at her surprised. Hunters?
"Who?" I asked and smiled nervously.
"The hunters. I am sure you know what hunters are." she said
"Nessa?" I heard Lisa's voice from behind.

"Are you sure?" I asked the girl ignoring Lisa.
"Yes. They were in the town when we got back from Mexico. We couldn't prepare enough to defend ourselves." she said.

I got pretty nervous. I wasn't excepting hunters. I was never facing any hunter and that was all new for me. I started walking nervously in front of the girl and continue asking her questions about the rest of the pack and the hunters. She didn't know where they took the rest of the werewolves and I saw she wanted to find them, but she didn't want to admit to herself that they were probably dead. She wanted to think they were alive. I couldn't be sure if they were alive or dead.
"What are we going to do?" Luke asked me in one moment.
I just looked at them and didn't answered anything. I got out of the house and took my phone from the pocket. I called Hades.
"Done already Nessa?" he asked in the moment he answered the call.
"No." I said "There are hunters in the town. They screw the job and took the werewolves." I added. I was furious I was telling him I did nothing in those two days.
"And why did you call me?" he asked seriously and with angry voice.

"I just.." I didn't know what to say.
"Kill them all" he said "the hunters too and the werewolves if they are still alive." he added.
"They are humans" I said and sounded like I as complaining.
"and hunters that can kill you any moment Nessa. Kill them" he said and hung up.

I was furious. I didn't want to do it. I was about to get back at the house when my phone started buzzing. It was Jack.
"Jack" I answered it.
"You should've call me first, not Hades." He said nervously.
"Jack, I didn't know what to do" I said
"Now you know" he said and I heard him chuckled. "You can't go alone against hunters" he added.
"I don't have a choice." I said and I leaned on the wall of the house.
"You have. I am coming there to help you" he said. I was excepting that.
"Hades won't let you. He thinks I need to do this alone." I said and tried to explain myself.
"I don't care Nessa. I am coming." He said and hung up.
