3rd person POV
A pretty young girl sits on a couch, reading, as her foster siblings run around the house and outside. Her long red hair falls over her emerald eyes as they quickly scan the page of her book and her lighting bolt scar on the front of her shoulder is visual. Haley Potter's life hasn't been the easiest. She never knew her birth parents and has been jumped around from foster home to foster home until four years ago. She never all that interesting until she turned 11 and she realized she could things that her foster siblings couldn't, but like always she never due attention to herself because she was so afraid of being sent away again. However, that didn't stop her from practicing anything she found, in books and online, in the dead of night to be sure not to be caught.
The doorbell rang but she was too consumed in her book about a young witch defeating evil to answer the door. Mrs. Livingston, Haley's foster mother, came out of the kitchen to open the door. "Hello? Can I help you?" she said, politely. On her porch stood an old man with a long white beard, a slightly younger woman and a young boy with black hair and emerald eyes, like Haley.
"I hope so ma'am." The old man said. "We're looking for a Miss Haley Potter, she's about 14 years old. We were told she was here."
Mrs. Livingston looked at the couple, slightly confused. Haley had never once had a visiting relative or a person interested in adopting her. "May I ask why?"
The woman spoke then. "This is her brother and we have come, on behalf of the family, to collect the girl and return her home to her godfather."
Mrs.Livingston eyes lit up, she was so excited for Haley. "Wonderful! Oh that's wonderful. She's such a sweet girl and I was so hoping one day someone would adopt her." She squeals. "Haley, dear! Come here a moment." Haley sighs, smacked her book closed and joined her foster mother at the door.
When Haley comes into view, the old man and woman gasped softly. The young boy smiles at his sister when their identical eyes meet. "Yes?"
The man and woman exchanged a glance as the woman said, "She looks just like Lily."
The young boy finally speaks. "Hi, Haley. I'm Harry, your brother. Your twin brother." She looked from the boy to her mother, who nods to her reassuring her she was fine. Harry was a little uncomfortable and unsure how to greet his long lost sister, but that didn't matter. Haley put her arms around his neck and hugged him tight.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After an emotional encounter, Harry helped Haley pack up what little belongs she had and the pair left her foster home. They got into a car with the man and woman, who still haven't introduced themselves to Haley. With the short period of time together, there was a noticeable difference in the twins personalities. Haley was much more mysterious than her brother but at the same time, once she opened up, she was wild, no filter and would say the first thing that came to mind. While Harry was quieter but he could be very sarcastic when pushed.
After they were a good distance away from the home, the woman turned around to face the twins. She handed Haley a letter, there was nothing on the front but the back had a red wax seal of a crest. Haley opened it, the letter read:
Dear Ms. Potter,
We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Please find enclosed a list of all necessary books and equipment. Term begins on September 1.
Yours sincerely,
Minerva McGonagall
Another paper had a list of first year supplies and fourth year supplies. Haley looked over the first page again and looked at Harry. "Ms. Potter, I am Professor McGonagall. I teach Transfiguration at Hogwarts and I will also be your aide to catch up in school, seeing as you've missed three years. Don't worry, you'll catch on quick. And this is Headmaster Albus Dumbledore."
