Haley's POV

The rest of the dinner, Harry, Ron, Fred, George and Ginny filled me in on Quidditch and the game we were going too. The twins really wanted me to really wanted me to cheer for the Irish but Ron and Harry wanted Bulgaria. After a very heated debate over which team could kick the other teams' ass and why, Mr. Weasley asked me a question I was hoping no one would.

"So Haley? Where have you been living all these years? With Muggles or Magic folk?"

I looked down at the table. "I was living with Muggles in Brighton, a group home for foster kids. I lived in a house with ten other kids." My living situation wasn't always the greatest so I preferred not to discuss it. I had quite a few homes where the foster siblings and even the foster parents were cruel and sometimes violent.

"Foster care? Is that a Muggle term?" Mr. Weasley asked, interested more in the meaning than my situation.

"Dad's works at the Ministry of Magic with Muggle items. He loves Muggles." Ginny said, knowing I was confused.

"Oh. Well that explains it. Foster care is where children are placed with people, not related to them for care because they don't have parents or their parents can't care for them. Most children are placed with individual families but Brighton has so few foster families that they've formed homes where children live waiting to be adopted or placed with a family." I explained the foreign Muggle word.

After dinner, Hermione was explaining first year Charms to me and told the story about how Harry and Ron saved her from a troll in their first year. When she finished we all went to sleep because we were leaving early in the morning to go to travel to the game.I laid on my cot and thought how nice it was to have girlfriends. I've had foster sisters, but never friends, I had one foster sister who I considered my sister but she was no longer with us. In a matter of two days, I gained a family and friends just by meeting one person, I felt lucky they were mine, lucky I was a Potter.

The next morning Ginny and Hermione were telling my about the houses at Hogwarts and how I'd likely be sorted with the first years as we walked to meet the Diggorys to go to the game.

"So there are four houses. " Ginny said.   "Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, Gryffindor and Slytherin."

Hermione started to explain each house. "Hufflepuff value dedication, patience and loyalty. They're sometimes pretty thick."

Then Ginny said "Cedric's a Hufflepuff, but he's actually quite smart. Ravenclaw value knowledge and wit, I don't know why your not in Ravenclaw, Hermione."

"I'm glad I'm not. Even of me, Ravenclaws are kinda dull." Hermione nose curled up. "Then there's Slytherin. They value cunningness and ambition, they all think they're better then everyone. No one really likes them."

"And finally Gryffindor. We're all in that house and they value bravery, daring and chivalry. That's honestly the best house, we have the most fun." Ginny said, laughing. Just then someone fall from the tree right behind us, we jumped and saw a tall, older boy with brown hair and eyes.

"Cedric, dear boy! Don't frighten the girls." The man talking to Mr. Weasley said.

Cedric looked from Ginny to Hermione to me and stayed there. "Sorry, father." He called back and walked away from us and to his dad, but he looked back at us one last time.

Ginny and Hermione looked at each other and then to me. "What?" I asked. They answered with a laugh and I asked 'what' again.

"He likes you!" Hermione singsonged out.
