Chapter 5: The Graveyard

The last thing I remember was falling sleep the night of the ball and the next was spitting out lake water and freezing. I looked around confused and saw Cedric next to me in the Black Lake. "What's going on?" I said out of breath.

"Triwizard Task. I'll explain in a second, let's get out of the water." He said. On the platform, McGonagall wrapped me in a towel and Cedric explained that the teachers took something of importance from each champion and hid it at the bottom of the lake. I was Cedric 'token'. Harry was still down there, but Krum had gotten Hermione out right after Cedric got me. Fleur had given up after being attacked by something in the water. 

Hermione and Cedric stood next to me. "Where is he?"

Cedric wrapped an arm around me. "It's okay, he still has 15 minutes." Just then Ron and Fleur's little sister broke the water's surface. Fleur and I both went over to the ladder to help them.  After helping her sister, Fleur helped Ron out. 

"Ron, where's Harry?" I got a blanket from McGonagall and wrapped it around Ron. 

"I don't know. He must still be down there." I helped him up and we joined Cedric and Hermione on the edge of the platform again. We waited and waited. "Is someone gonna go down there and get him?" 

"He still has five minutes, they won't go yet." Cedric said, he was just as nervous as we were. Just then Harry shot out of the water like a bullet and landed hard on the platform. I run over to him and hugged him. 

"Ow. Haley, ow!" 

"Oh, I'm sorry!" I took off one of the blankets I had and gave it to him. Dumbledore walked over to us and held his wand to his neck.

"Attention!" He shouted and the students all silenced. "After talking with the judges we have determined that Cedric Diggory and Harry Potter tied for first, because of Harry's want to save not only Mr. Weasley but the other students as well. Viktor Krum came in third and Miss Delacour came in fourth. The next task will be this weekend and I suggest you all get ready for it." 

As left the docks, after the task concluded, a note was placed in my hand. I tucked into my pocket and followed Harry, Ron and Hermione into Hagrid's hut. "Blimey, Harry! Why didn't you tell me you found your sister?" 

"Hello, Hagrid. I'm Haley." I said and stuck out my hand for him to shake. 

To my surprise, he hugged me. "You look just like your mother, Haley." After we had tea with Hagrid, we all returned to the common room and I read the note.

Midnight, clock tower. 

I found out something.

- D.M.'

Fear shot through me, what did he find out? Is it bad? "Hermione, I need you to cover for me at midnight."

Her face lit up. "Ohh, meeting someone?" she whispered. I laughed and nodded, but I didn't want to tell her how worried I was about what he might have to tell me. 

That night I waited, anxiously for midnight. I stole Harry's cloak again and made my way to the clock tower, Draco was already there so I stepped back took off the clock and hid it in the shadows. When he saw me, he eyes lit up which made my heart flutter. He pulled me into a hug and kissed my hair. "I found out something from my father." he said, and he sounded scared.

I pushed myself out of his hug to see his face. "What is it? Is it bad?" He lead me over to our bench. "Did he find out about us? Draco, please, you're really starting to scare me." 

"Something is going to happen at the last task this weekend. I don't know what and I don't know when, but it is. You have to warn your brother, just tell him to be alert while he's there."
