Hermione brewed us a Polyjuice Potion to use to get into the Ministry. Hermione turned into Umbridge's aide while Ron, Harry and I turned into three other Ministry workers. Once inside the Ministry, we were split up. Ron got pulled away by the Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement because he needed to a job done. Hermione was pulled away by Umbridge because she was needed down at a blood trial. So Harry and I made our way to Umbridge's office to look for the locket.
We searched all the drawers in her desk and on every shelf. "I don't think its here, Harry." I turned to look at him and he had a stack of files in his hand. "What are those?" They were files containing information on our friends and their families. Harry put the files back and slammed the draw shut. I grabbed his wrists. "Harry, I know its upsetting. Umbridge is a terrible person, but you can't let them get to you like that. It's not going to help." He nodded and I pulled him into a hug. "Let's go find Ron and Hermione. We'll come back, we'll find it."
We stepped into an elevator to go to the bottom floor. It stopped about three floors before the bottom and Ron stepped in. He didn't remember what we looked like under the polyjuice so he had no idea who we were. "Ron? Its us."
"Oh! Hi. Sorry, I forgot what you looked like. Did you find it?"
I shook my head. "No, we're going to get Hermione and leave." Then elevator stopped and we stepped out. We heard Umbridge's voice and followed it. She was sitting on in the center of the room surrounded by Dementors. Her cat patronus hanging closely around her. I tapped Harry's shoulder and pointed to Umbridge, she had the locket on her neck. Hermione nodded to me, she knew she had it. Harry took out his wand and stunned Umbridge, Hermione reached up and pulled the necklace off her. The four of us ran out of the court and into an elevator, with the Dementors on our tail. The elevator door shut but the Dementors were still close enough to suck out our happy memories. I cast my Patronus and the Dementors fled. The elevator took us up the top floor where we had to fight our way out, again.
The Floo Networks started to close and I was scared we wouldn't be able to get out. Harry grabbed my hand and jumped into a chimney, taking me with him. We followed closely behind by Hermione and then Ron. I had never traveled by Floo Network before but I knew something was wrong.
---------------------------------------------------------
I fell to the ground, hard, it knocked the wind out of me. I went to stand up and noticed the leaves and grass. "Where are we?"
"I thought we were going back to Grimmauld Place?" I looked over and saw Hermione kneeling over Ron, who was writhing in pain.
I ran over to them and took Ron's other hand. He squeezed it against the pain. "What happened?!"
"Someone had hold of me and knew that once they'd seen the house we couldn't stay so I changed it. But Ron got splinched. Harry, in my bag. There's a bottle of Dittany." He pulled out the bottle and gave it to her. She dropped bits of the liquid on Ron's arm and it started to heal. I stayed with him while she and Harry set up the tent and covered our location with protection enchantments.
We stayed there for several days because Ron was still so badly hurt. The three of us tried to destroy the locket with magic but nothing worked. We decided to keep it safe by taking turns wearing it. Harry wore it first and was extremely on edge about everything. Ron's radio he would listen to, Hermione's voice when she talked, even me trying to calm him down. Finally, I'd had enough. "Take it off. Take the necklace off, now." I told him, he took it off and put it in my hand. "Do you feel better?"
"Loads. I'm sorry for snapping at you all."
Hermione took it out of my hand. "It's because of the dark magic surrounding this. We should take it in turns. So it doesn't permanently effect one of us." She put around her neck and went back to reading. We continued that as the days went on, when one of us started to get easily irradiated someone else would take it. We started to travel on foot, because even though Ron was better he still couldn't apparited.
One night, Hermione was cutting Harry's hair, Ron was laying down from the walking and I was at the table reading. "Oh my God!" Hermione put down the scissors and ran over to the table with a book.
"What? What did you do?" I asked, thinking she may have cut Harry's hair wrong or something.
"Do you know why Dumbledore left you the Sword of Gryffindor?" I shook my head. "Because we can use it to destroy the Horcruxes. Harry used a Basilisk fang to destroy the diary, then he killed it with the sword. The sword takes on what makes it stronger, its impregnated with Basilisk venom."
Harry joined us at the table. "You are brilliant, Hermione!"
"How are we suppose to find the sword? It's missing, isn't it." Then the lights went out and back on. Ron stepped into view. We all just looked at him, confused.
"Yeah, I am still here."
"Say what's on your mind, Ron." Harry said, tense.
"I just don't understand how you two can blindly follow Dumbledore and he not have told you anything about what to look for or where to find it!" He started to scream at us. "I'm tired of following you! I didn't want any part of this!"
I walked over to him. "Ron, take it off." I reached for the necklace, but he fought me. "You wouldn't be saying an of this if you hadn't been wearing it all day!"
He took it off and threw it on the floor of the tent, then picked up his bag and radio before turning to Hermione. "Are you coming?"
She just looked at him. I could tell she wanted him to stay, but she knew there was nothing she could say that would make him change his mind. He shook his head in anger and stormed out of the tent. Hermione ran after him, begging him to stay but we heard apparited and her starting to cry. Harry turned away from me and climbed into his bed, he was just as upset as her but he wasn't going to show it.
I left the tent and find Hermione curled up on the edge of the protection ring. I knelt down next to her and hugged her. "He really left me." She sobbed out and started to cry harder.
"It was just the necklace. He'd been wearing it too long." I told her. "He'll come back." I helped her up and walked her back to the tent. I sat next to Hermione on her bed until she fell asleep. I felt so bad that I didn't catch it sooner, I'd been watching him all day. I noticed a different in him but just thought it was from his injury. I guess the combination of the necklace and the injury caused him to get really anger, a lot faster than the rest of us.
We waited in the spot of a few days but Ron didn't come back. One day, Harry sat down at the table where Hermione and I were working out where to find the sword. "I want to go to Godric's Hollow. It's where we were born, its where our parents dead."
Hermione sighed. "They'll expect you to go there, because it means something to you."
"It means something to him, he almost died there. I think that's a place he would hide a Horcrux."
"I think we should go." I said. "I think we find more than a Horcrux there."
Hermione looked at me. "Like what?"
"The Sword of Godric Gryffindor."
