Silence fell on the crowd after the Horntail broke his chains and flew after Harry. I stood next to Hermione and Ron holding my breath and Hermione held my hand as we waited to see some sign of life. Then a dot popped up over by one of the bridge. "It's Harry!" Someone shouted and I could finally breathe again. Gyffindor, Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw students cheered as Harry grabbed his egg. Back in the common room, I hugged my brother tight.
"I knew you would do it! But if you ever scare me like that again, I will kill you myself!" Our group of friends laughed and Seamus asked Harry to open his egg. Which he gladly did but was met with a high pitched shrieking and was forced to close it.
"What the bloody hell was that?!" Ron shouted and was met with silence. Everyone awkwardly walked away from the two friends, who finally made up after a few months of not speaking. They went back to being friends like nothing had happened and tried to get themselves dates to the Ball that was only a week away. Harry said he'd rather take on another dragon then ask a girl to the dance.
Later that week, I was sitting in the Great Hall working on some of McGonagall's 'catch up' assignments. After I while, Draco and his friends came in and sat down at the Slytherin table. I caught his eye and he smiled at me. I continued my work, occasionally looking up to see him still looking at me. Cedric and his friends came into the Great Hall just than, he said something to his friends and walked over to me.
"What are you working on?" He asked and sat down, blocking my sight of Draco.
"Hey. Its just work from the last years I need to do to catch up. I'm so close to being down but I can't figure out this Transfiguration assignment." I looked at him. "I heard your when pretty good with Transfiguration. Can you help?"
He looked surprised. "When did you hear that?"
"One of the professor. If I remember correctly, he said that in your fourth year, you could turn a watch into a watch and have it sing you the time."
He laughed. "That was one time! But yes, I can help you. Let me see it." I laughed and handed him me sheet. He helped me with that assignment and part of another.
"Did you come in here with friends? Shouldn't you get back to them?"
"Well, yes. But I actually wanted to ask you something." He said and handed me back my homework. "I wanted to know if you were going to the Ball next week."
"I hadn't thought about it. I mean I haven't been asked by anyone."
He nodded. "I have to go. Would you want to go with me?"
I'd never been on a date, I'd never been asked out before. I didn't really like Cedric, I mean he's a nice guy and he is very cute. I kinda felt bad, like I was cheating on Draco somehow. We had never talked about what we were, exactly, and he had told me to go and have fun at this dance. "Yes, I'll go with you. Now, go back to your friends, I have to meet Hermione." he smiled at me and walked me to the Great Hall door and then left to sit with his friends. Before I left, I looked over to see sad grey eyes.

When I got back to the common room, Hermione was sitting on the couch. When she saw me, she stood up and walked over to me.
"Something weird just happened to me." We both said at the same time.
We laughed. "You first." I said, put my school bag on the floor and we sat down on the couch. "What happened?"
"Viktor Krum just asked me to the Yule Ball."
"And?"
She scoffed excitedly. "I said I'd go." I squealed and hugged her.
