''You really shouldn't sit out here in the rain dressed like that you'll get sick.'' Carter's voice suddenly came from behind me.
''Holy, what the!? Carter don't scare me like that okay?'' I shouted, looking around and seeing Carter behind me.
''Sorry but I always hang here.'' He shrugged.
''Just leave me alone you've caused enough trouble for me today'' I spit.
''About that, I am really sorry for bumping into you earlier. And for what happened at your house and mine."
''Sorry but that doesn't make up for the bruise on my face or my brothers being mad at me.''
''Here this will at least keep you warm.'' He handed me his football jacket
''Thanks''
''I figured I at least owed you that much. ''
''I appreciate it.'' He sat beside me in silence for a long time. It seemed like it would've gotten awkward, but it never did. I was never comfortable around him, but right then he didn't bug me as much as normal, and I wasn't scared of him.
''Do you want a ride home? '' he asked after the rain stopped. I thought about it. Getting a ride from him was illegal both to my morals, and to the actual law, but I was soaked and freezing. I relented to the shivering in seconds.
''Yeah sure.'' I followed him out to his car and he opened the door for me. He was being well mannered, odd. I got in. When we got to my house I went to get out and he buckled me back in I gave him a weird look and went to try again and he lightly smacked my hand like I was five. He got out went around and opened the door for me again. He walked me to my door. His manners were in tact. That was still weird. I thanked him again and went in, using my own manners. I noticed I was still in his jacket and went out to give it to him but he was already gone. I put it in my backpack to give to him at school tomorrow and went to bed. Luckily for me Cason was asleep and Harrold must have gone to rachel's house. that's his girlfriend, I didn't really like her but I was just glad he wasn't where I was to yell at me. I went and changed into pajamas and laid down. I slowly drifted into a troubled sleep.
