Girls weekend was great. Reality had to crash in on me upon my return though, and it hurt like a bitch.
Aron still won't talk to me. Cason is home alot more now. He stopped fighting me. The guys and I hang out alot. I'm gonna invite Brenna to come live with me today since Cason moves out in a week. I caught him crying the other day. He didn't see me though and I don't plan on telling him. Things are going so great right now and I don't want to mess it up by offending his 'manliness'. I'm going out with the girls and Reece cup today. We're all gonna chill.
~
I was hanging out with the guys and we were bowling and eating pizza and I was creaming the guys in the game. Then Aron showed up.
Aron's POV
I showed up at the bowling alley to hang out with the guys and she was there. I started walking towards her to say hello and she looked like a deer in the headlights.
"Hey " I said to her.
"Aron, what are you doing here?" She asked unable to keep the fear from her voice, but there was hope there too.
"I didn't think you would be here. Besides do I need your permission to do stuff now?" I asked. She always does this. Makes me feel bad for stuff that's not my fault.
"N-no, I just wasn't expecting you here." She said lowering her eyes to stare at her feet. It was all fear now, I killed the hope.
"Back at you sweet heart." I said sarcastically.
"I'm just going to go now..." She began to leave still looking at her feet.
"C.J. Wait!" I yelled. She kept walking. I ran up and grabbed her by the arm, yanking her toward me and forcing her to look at me.
"C.J. Just listen to me-" She cut me off there.
"No you just listen Aron. I'm tired of people treating me like crap. Something has to give." It was my turn to interrupt her now.
" I don't want the thing you give up on to be us." My temper was building.
"I don't either, but you really hurt me, Aron." She was crying now.
"It was a stupid fight."
"You left me in the middle of the night somewhere I'd never been before, and you didn't call or check in on me for days." She said between choking back sobs.
"Well You were stupid enough to get out of the car! You continuously criticize me for everything I do! You are a high maintenance diva! I don't even know what I ever saw in you! All you ever worry about is yourself! Maybe I was just stressed out okay!" I completely lost my cool. She was sobbing hard now and that sound just killed me.
"It doesn't give you an excuse not to call. I was worried about you!" She was screaming at me, between sobs.
"I left you in the middle of nowhere and you were worried about me?! How dumb are you?! If I cared about you at all do you really think I would have left you there?! Get over yourself!" I was so pissed. Why does she do this to me? She always has to make me sound like the bad guy. She got out of that car. I didn't make her.
I needed her to shut up. So I shoved her lightly into the wall. She fell to the floor with tears running down her face. I felt everyone staring at me. I ran my hands through my hair and left.
Brenna's POV
I ran over to C.J. Nobody expected the fight to escalate into this. I couldn't let Cason find out. So calling a hospital was out of the question, and Reece Cup couldn't carry her or take her to his house. My house and Arial's house were also out of the question. That only left one option. I took out my phone and dialed his number.
C.J.'s p.o.v.
I woke up in a familiar room. I heard familiar voices too. But for some reason I had no memory of anything at all. No distinct ones anyway, just familiarity all around me.
"Hey, we've been worried about you. How are you feeling?" A boy with medium light skin and black hair was talking to me.
When I woke up I seemed to be okay. Thank God. Dustin was the first to see me.
"Hey are you alright? You scared the hell out of us."
"Yeah I'm fine now. Where's everyone?"
"They went to go get some food."
"Everyone? They just left a fourteen year old boy to watch me? Hahahahahaha! That's just sad."
"Hey! I'm responsible!"
"I know Dustin I know."
"Hey bring me my purse." I demanded.
"Alright."
Once I got my purse I pulled out that good old pink flip phone. I dialed my dads number and hit call. It seemed to ring forever. Then he finally picked up.
"Hello?"
"Dad?"
"C.J.? Now isn't the best time honey. I'm in a meeting."
"It's important. We need a meeting of our own."
"Alright dear meet me at La Pina's at 6."
"Okay."
"Good bye dear."
"Good bye dad."
The line went dead and I left Carter's house to go home.
{an hour till 6}
I got home and changed into a dark blue dress that fell just above my knees with a sweetheart neckline. I straightened my hair and put on nude makeup, with the exception of my pink lipgloss. I looked professional, deadly, but professional. I added my high heeled ankle boots and left for dinner. He was early this time. He had secured us the back corner table. We always sat there when mom was alive. When everything felt like family. As I approached he pulled out a chair for me. I sat and he pushed it in. Returning to his own seat he posed an odd question. One I hadn't even considered. Nor did I need to consider it. The answer simply rolled off of my tongue.
" what are you having?"
" lasagna." I always got lasagna with the family. A quick look of pain passed his face. Gone as quickly as it came. Then the business started.
