So cason hasn't come home yet and I keep getting media alerts that say he beat the holy ghost out of Courtney. I'll have to ask him about that. It's 3:50 and I don't know if Aron is going to show up to help me move my furniture. I hear a knock at the door. I answer it and three scary men are standing there. One is pale, huge, muscular, and has eyes as black as night. Another is tall dark and lean. The third has dirty blonde hair and many facial piercings but is tall and built.
''How may I help you?" I ask the men kindly.
''Is Cason Branson here?" The dark one speaks first.
''I'm afraid he's out at the moment. Can I take a message for him?"
''No you'll do just fine.'' The man with the piercings says as the others step into my house. I run and locked myself into my room. I pulled out my phone and called the emergency hotline 9-1-1.
''Hello what is you're emergency?" The operator asked me.
'' three men are trying to forcefully remove me from my home. I live at 110 Blackwood lane Los Angeles California.''
''We'll send someone right away miss.''
''Thanks bye.'' I hung up my phone and noticed that they were trying to break down my door. I moved my chair infront of it and locked the handle in place with the chair. Then I put my nightstand on top of the chair to hold it in place. A few minutes later one of them came smashing in my window. It was the dark one. I ran to the other side of the room to hold the block on the door. He closed in on me and the big one came in next. I knew I couldn't fight them both. I could start to hear police sirens in the distance and the big one came at me but I jumped sideways and he fell. Then I tried to start remember details about them. Then I noticed they all had the same tattoo. A snake with an eye in the center. The obvious snakes eye gang mark. Cason's gang. And they called him Branson. It all clicked. The men heard the sirens get closer and ran. The police made sure I was okay and I provided accurate sketches of the three men. They then asked me if I had somewhere safe to go. I said I knew a place and texted my dad to meet me at the park. I waited fifteen minutes for him to show up. He sat next to me and I stayed silent for awhile pondering my approach to the topic of my brother and his gang.
I finally decided on the direct approach.
''I was attacked by men of the snake's eye gang, they were looking for Cason Branson.'' I said my voice full of anger and question.
''I have an explanation.''
''It better be a good one. Get talking.''
''Your brother is going under my last name because I'm training him to be leader of the snake's eye. He must have dishonored a member in some way.''
''WAIT YOU WANT TO GET MY BROTHER INVOLVED IN THE VERY THING THAT GOT MY MOM KILLED?! I screamed at him in the middle of the empty park. I didn't want to hear anything else he had to say. I ran out of the park and ran to the closest safest place for me.
I ran to Carter's house. I knocked on the door and waited, looking around for any sign of danger.
Dustin opened the door.
''Car-'' I slapped my hand over his mouth.
''Nobody can know I'm here, especially not Carter.'' I whispered to him. He nodded in understanding and I let him go. He let me inside and snuck me into his room.
''Explain.'' He said motioning me to sit next to him. I sat next to him and began my explanation.
'' Well your brother and I aren't together anymore.'' I pause for response. He nodded.
''And I am having problems with my everything, but long story short, I'm in trouble and I need a safe place to stay for awhile. In my current circumstances this is the best place.''
''You can sleep on the couch. You look exhausted.''
''Thanks Dustin. Please don't tell Carter I'm here.''
''Fine, get some sleep.'' I layed on the couch in his game room and used my phone to check the time. It was 8:47p.m. and I was hungry. I hoped sleep would end the hunger. So I closed my eyes.
Next thing I knew Dustin was shaking me awake.
''What Dustin? What's wrong?''
''You were screaming in your sleep.'' I suddenly remembered my nightmare.
''It was just a bad dream I'll be fine.''
''It's like one in the morning but there's no way I'll be able to go back to sleep.''
''Me either.'' My stomach became angry at me and made a weird noise.
''You hungry?'' Dustin asked me.
''Just a little.'' I said guilty-like.
''I'll order a pizza.''
''At one in the morning?''
''I know a guy.''
''Alright.'' I sighed knowing if he was anything like Carter I would lose this argument. A half hour later we were eating pizza and watching sponge-bob. I decided to leave at 7:30 while Dustin was asleep in the recliner. I wrote a note and put it on his forehead.
I left his floor and made it to the park without incident. I sat on the swings and watched the children try monkey bars and go down slides. One kid kicked his sister in the face going down the slide. I struggled not to laugh. Everything was awful but perfect at the same time. And so I was walking to areal's house when my phone rang. After I heard the news my stomach did flip flops as I shoved my phone back into my pocket and ran the other way.
