chapter twenty seven

It's been 4 days since I became a member of the snakes eye. Aron keeps calling me at midnight and talking for hours so I guess we're cool. Anyways, I was getting ready for school and Colbilyne was in my kitchen because she was going to drive me to school. I finished pulling my hair up and went to the kitchen. I needed a hair cut. I had on a red hoodie and grey leggings with sneakers, and my hair was pulled into a messy bun. Colbilyne was in a green T-shirt that said luck of the irish on it and her flaming red hair was pulled into a braid down to her butt. Brenna went to school with Justin. Again. Nick was meeting Colbilyne at school and I was going to be all alone.
''Girl, you need a hair cut.'' Colbilyne said to me.
''Like you can talk areal.'' I called her that sometimes just to annoy her these days.
''We'll go together after school!''
''Yeah with Aron gone I need some girl time!'' With that we drove to school. When we got there I was walking toward my locker and away from my friends when I heard an all to familiar voice behind me.
''Heeeyyy cutie haven't seen you around before you new or something?'' Courtney was acting all flirtatious to a new kid, and he looked terrified. I walked to his aid.
''Courtney please stop hitting on everyone you meet it's really getting pathetic and screams' I'm desprate' to the world.'' Yep bi-otch and proud.
''What are you doing here Lockergirl? Where's british boy? Did he finally realize he could do so much better?''
''Where's Brad? Oh that's right he's with Erica because she's not a slut.''
''Yeah well she's pregnant now so I got the better deal, cause I don't sleep around. Besides it's baseball player season.''
''Well you might not play a sport but you play the field more than any of them.''
''Well you're lucky to even get a guy so don't even start with me.''
''At least I can keep a guy for more than a week.''
''Yeah well I don't need to defend myself to you. I'm a frickin' princess and I'm better than you all the time. You're just an annoying little bee buzzing in my way. So buzz off.''
''Princess, more like the wicked witch of the east and honey, I'm Dorothy.'' With that I grabbed the poor kid and walked away.
''I'm C.J. Sorry you had see that.''
''I'm Reed Conliee, thanks for saving me from Courtney.''
''Anytime Reese cup.''
''What?''
''Peanut butter skin and chocolate hair, therefore I deem you Reese cup.''
''Oh okay.''
''Follow me, I'll get you where you need to go.'' Turns out we had the exact same schedule. Coincidence I think not. He was destined to be my bbff. Boy best friend forever. As I was showing him around I found out alot about him. He was from Georgia and he lives with his mom. His dad lives in Alabama. He was great at baseball and he has a brother who's four years older than us. He's a really interesting person. I also told him a little about me. I was thinking of how Aron would handle this when the lunch bell rang.
''Come on Reese cup! Food time!'' I yelled.
''Alright already sweet treat! Geez!'' He calls me sweet treat since I call him Reese cup. We walked into the hallway and our arms were linked. Areal and Brenna raised their eyebrows at me so I explained them the events of this morning.
''That b****!'' Brenna yelled. A teacher gave her a dirty look but we ran before she could give us detention.
''Reese cup these are the girls, girls this is Reed Conliee.''
''Haye Bookie.'' Brenna said
''Whatup Library.''
''Like i haven't heard those before.'' But he was laughing
''Reese cup that's areal and that's Brenn.'' I pointed at each of them in turn. We went into the lunch room and I left it to the girls to introduce him to the guys while I got a spicy Asian chicken and rice bowl and smothered it in that spicy Asian sauce. Lemme tell ya that is good food. When I got back to the table I did nothing but eat my food. When I opened my fortune cookie I screamed. There was a skull printed on it in blood and it said
You will be cursed with bad fortune as long as you are the sole owner of this fortune.
I Googled the fortune and sure enough the page said.
If you get this fortune beware your life is in grave danger. These are the rules of the cookie:
1. As soon as you open the cookie the fortune is automatically yours.
2. As long as you have the fortune one bad thing will happen to you every day and each day it will get worse.
3. The only way to get rid of your bad luck is to bake a fresh cookie, put this fortune inside it, choose your target, give them the cookie and it's safest to watch them break open the cookie.
ONCE THIS IS DONE YOU WILL BE FREE FROM THE EVIL CURSE OF THIS COOKIE.
''Wholy crap!'' I screamed.
''What?!'' The people at the table were probably fed up with my mutterings.
''My fortune cookie is cursed!''
''No way!'' Nick said
''Let me see!'' Colbilyne wanted to see it but I cluched it tight.
''Cool!'' Justin thought stuff like that was hilarious.
''Omg that's freaky!'' Brenna squeaked. Then all the sudden arms wrapped around me comfortingly and I looked up into Reese's concerned eyes. I hugged him tight and told him I'd be fine. Now I know what you're thinking but I'm not leading him on. He knows about Aron. He was just being supportive. He was already one of my closest friends and I'd barely known him three hours. He knew I was scared and wanted to help, and I was appreciative of that. So once school was over he came over to my house and I helped him with his school work since he was new. He had a basic understanding of what he was supposed to do, but it still took a good four hours to get all our work done. When we were done his brother came to get him. I was just drifting off to sleep when Aron called.
''Hello?'' My sleepy voice asked.
''Hello love, guess what?''
''What?''
''I'm outside.''
''Yeah I can hear traffic. What town are you in now?''
''Well why don't you go outside look for the stars and when you find them I'll tell you.''
''Aron... I'm sleepy!'' I whined.
''Please?''
''Fine!'' I pouted. When I walked out my door I hit something hard. I swore and tried to back up but someone was holding me still. I looked up and Aron was standing there. He needed a haircut too. I sat there and hugged him, I take in his warmth, his scent, his presence in general. He was stroking my hair as I inhaled him. I'd missed him so much. I kissed him, the familiar feeling of his love rushing through my veins. It was like getting the best new drugs available after going through months of withdrawal. We stayed outside chatting until the sun started rising. Then we went inside and made waffles and bacon with fresh fruit and milk. We ate the delicious food and I got ready and he drove us to school. I left Cason a note telling him I was with Aron at school. When we got to school I refused to leave his side. All our friends greeted him and asked all sorts of awkward questions like were the girls in England hot? Is it true that their toilet water was purple? Then Reese cup came up.
''Aron this is Reed Conliee. Reese cup this is Aron.'' I kissed Aron's cheek when I introduced him to Reese so Aron would stay calm because Reese had just hugged me.
''Hey Reed you new?''
''Yep.''
''Well there are three names you need to learn. Courtney- she's a...well she's the span of Satan. Carter Anota- don't mess with him he has no problem beating newbies into line. And mine, watch how you deal with me. You don't want to be my enemy. Also C.J. is my world and the only reason I didn't kill you just for hugging her is because she seems to like your head attached to your neck. We clear?''
''Sorry but you need to learn one thing about me. C.J. is the first friend I ever had. Before this I was homeschooled so I love her and if you break her heart I'll break your balls. We clear?''
''Well if we both want to protect her then I think we'll get along just fine.''
''Great.''
