chapter nineteen

I woke up on Saturday and put on a black hoodie with white skinny jeans. Ariel put on a pink hoodie with white skinny jeans. We left a note for Brenna who was still sleeping and left so we could have lunch before the movie. We spent two hours at a Chinese restaurant and an hour driving to the movie. We got there and split up. We asked Rico to wait in the middle of the theater. I went through the east entrance exactly at 4:00 I smiled and he smiled back. Then Ariel entered through the west entrance exactly at 4:05 and his smile dropped we walked up to him together and smacked him at the same time. We high fived and walked out. It took us an hour and a half to get back to her house and I packed my stuff. Cason came and picked me up. I got home at around 7 from running places for Rachel and saw Harrold was packing his stuff. I forced a smile as I walked up to him.
''So you guys got the house?''
''Yeah, it's right down the road. Plus. I want you to have my room.''
''Why me? Why not Cason?''
''Because you need the bigger closet.''
''Oh right.''
''Okay, well I'd better keep packing.''
''Alright see ya later.''
''Yeah.''
I walked into my room and silently cried myself to sleep.
It was Sunday morning and I was getting ready to go to the airport. I put on black short shorts, a white tanktop and a blood red crop top that said you wish on it. I braided my hair and did my makeup light. I sprayed on perfume and went over to Cason, snapping my fingers to get his attention.
''Can I have the car today?'' I asked.
''Why?'' I couldn't answer his question.
''Um, the girls want to go to the mall. Unless you want to drive us.''
''Here.'' He tossed me the keys. I grabbed my bag and put a stick of minty green gum in my mouth. I drove to the store and bought a gift. Then I drove to the airport. I waited at the gate for the next flight to come in. I was hoping the next flight would be from England, because otherwise I had the wrong gate. My phone beeped and I turned around to text.

To- devil love: morning handsome♡
As soon as I sent the text arms wrapped around my waist. I turned around surprised and wrapped my arms around the best thing since reeses pieces.
''Hello love, miss me?'' He said.
''Aron!'' I replied. I smacked him hard.
''I deserved that.'' Aron said. I had made his lip bleed.
''Yeah, but actually I have a confession, I dated Carter while you were gone, and they gave cason your spot on the football team.''
''What!'' He was trying to control his anger.
''We broke up. You dumped me.'' I said throwing my arms up in surrender. Suddenly his arms were around me and his lips crashed into mine. He pulled back and we started laughing.
''I always wanted to do that.'' He said still laughing.
''I know.'' He put his arm in mine and laced our fingers together.
''I got you something.'' He said pulling a box from his pocket.
''Aron...''
''Shhh'' he handed me the box. I opened it and my jaw dropped. It was a gold locket with a silver inscription that read you've been mine forever and I'll be yours forever.
''Aron...''
''I said shhh.'' He took it from me and put it on me. I opened it and a tear fell when I saw the picture inside.
''Aron you kept this? We were five when this was taken.''
''And I knew then I loved you.''
''Well I got you something too.'' I handed him the box. He opened it and started laughing.
''Is this?''
''Yep the bottle of cologne we took off your dad's dresser and drank.'' I laughed too.
''Devil love.''
''That's still your contact.''
''Yours too.''
''Come on I brought Cason's car.''
''He knows?''
''No I told him the girls wanted to go to the mall.''
''Okay.'' We went to the car and I took him home. He kissed me again and got out.
''Bye.'' I called after him.
''Bye love.'' He called at me. I swear his British accent made me blush. I drove to Brenna's house and walked in.
''Mom I'm home!'' I called as I walked to the fridge. I grabbed a bottle of water as Brenna's mom walked in the kitchen.
''We've been missing you around here.'' She said to me.
''I missed you too.''
''Mom, quit hogging my bff.'' Brenna joked.
''Why do you call her mom?''  Paige asked me.
''Because I can.'' I said sarcastically. Brenna took me to her room. And we watched t.v. for an hour then did some karaoke. I got ready to leave.
''Bye mom bye Keith!'' I shouted as I left. I drove home and ate some dinner. Then I lost Just dance three to Cason. Then I went to bed and waited for the morning to come. I woke up at three in the morning to a nightmare and climbed in bed with Cason. He put his arm around me and I fell back asleep.
Monday when I woke up I got dressed in a white short shorts and a white tanktop with a white crop top that says dreams and nightmares. I put on black vans and did my makeup light. Cason drove me to school. I walked up to the girls but they were arguing so I just went to my locker.
''Morning beautiful.'' I knew that accent anywhere.
''Hey Aron, let me see your schedule, we've never had a class apart let's hope we don't start now.''
''I already checked, we have all the same classes.''
''Great now go to your locker, I have friends you know.''
''Good they can be jealous of our love.'' He kissed me gently and I smiled. He walked away without another word.
''Girl, who was that?''Brenna asked.
''You remember Aron.''
''Oh yeah, girl caremel skin ocean blue eyes and a British accent. How do I find one?''
''Sorry you have Justin.''
''Speaking of the devil...''
''Hey guys lazer tag this weekend and C.J bring your british boyfriend. Carter is bringing Britney. Oh and Cason is bringing Alicia.''
''One problem, Cason doesn't know Aron is back.''
''Come on it's my birthday.''
''Fine, because I love my brothers and now you and Nick are family.'' I went to class.
At lunch Aron sat with us he sat next to me. His hand was around my waist. I got up and walked out. I went to Cason's class and told his teacher the principal wanted him. She dismissed him and we walked out.
''What is it?'' He asked
''Aron and I are back together.'' I said bluntly.
''I thought you didn't want a long distance thing.''
''He's back.''
''And you didn't bother to tell me!'' He was angry now.
''I know you don't like him.''
''HE HIT YOU!!!''
''NO HE DIDN'T.''
''I HAVE TO PROTECT YOU.''
''FUNNY CAUSE WHEN CARTER SLAPPED ME SO HARD I PASSED OUT YOU LOVED HIM!!''
''FINE!''
''FINE!'' He pushed me and went back to class. I went back to lunch and Aron looked at me.
''Something wrong love?''
''You cheated, you hit me, you dumped me, you left me crying to walk home in a tanktop in the snow. Yet I still love you. I still come back to you. Does that make me pathetic?''
''No it just shows how in love we are.''
''Will you ever hurt me again?''
''Never, pinkie promise.''
''Pinkie promise.'' We hooked pinkies and he picked me up and put me on his lap. I sat sideways and layed my head on his chest.
The bell rang a while later and I went back to class.
After school Courtney approached me by my locker.
''Lockergirl, who's the new kid?''
''My boyfriend, so back up.''
''Sorry, but we both know I get what I want.''
''Hello love.'' A voice came from behind me.
''Hi you must be new, I'm Courtney.'' She smiled like a snake.
''The snake smiles but shows no teeth.'' I stated my favorite Chinese proverb.
''It's okay love, you are better than every other girl in my eyes.'' Aron reassured me.
''I love you too. Can we go now?''
''Yes love.''
Courtney glared at me as we walked away. I went home and Cason had left his phone on the counter and was in the shower. He got a text and I read it.
From-the guys: welcome to the snakes eye. I ran out and went to Brenna's house.
''Mom I have a problem.'' I said to Brenna's mom.
''What is it sweetie?'' She asked looking up from her papers.
''Cason is in the snake's eye.''
''Honey he wouldn't join a gang like them.''
''They called one time and I answered and they said something about a job. Then today he got a text and I read it and it said welcome to the snake's eye.''
''Oh sweetie I'm sorry.''
''I don't know what to do.''
''Give him time, Cason is a big boy he'll figure it out.''
''Can I stay here tonight?''
''Yes just go to Brenna's room. She is asleep already.''
''Thanks mom.''
''Anytime dear.'' I crawled in bed next to Brenna and fell asleep.
