Chapter 28
I woke back up with sunlight streaming in through my window. I yawned and stretched wincing a bit when I stretched my leg too much. I took a glance at the time. 12:30pm it read. I got out of bed and went into my bathroom to fix myself up. I brushed my teeth, took a shower, washed my hair and threw on some leggings with a long thick crochet sweater with a pair of knee high socks. I smiled to myself as I headed to the kitchen. It seemed so normal to be getting up with nothing to worry or care about.
When I walked into the kitchen I saw that everyone was there already. Well except Serenity because my dad flew her back to Pennsylvania. My family and friends: Brian, Michael, Jonathan, Gina, Eva, my dad, Hunter, Kat, Luke, Caden and some additional stranger. I stared at her in awe. She was beautiful. And when I say beautiful I mean I think I developed a woman crush.
She had nice brown hair that stopped a little under her shoulders. Her eyes were the prettiest brown and not at all plain. She stood up and walked towards me. Even up close she was stunning. She dressed casual: a flowy blue dress that landed right on her knee and flats. The woman stopped in front of me and smiled showing off a set of perfect white teeth.
"Hi, you must be Adelaide. I've heard so much about you. I'm Carla." she stuck out her hand and I shook it.
"Nice to meet you too." I smiled back. "When did you get here?"
"About three hours ago. I was hoping we could have gone out for breakfast to get to know each other better but you were still sleeping." she said apologetically.
I let out a short laugh. "I needed the sleep. I've been through hell, literally, these past few weeks."
Carla laughed and rubbed my arm. "I know. Your father banned me from coming here until that woman was gone."
We both looked over at Papá who simply shrugged and laughed.
"Don't worry. We'll have a chance to go out to breakfast tomorrow, Carla," I reassured her.
She grinned as her eyes brightened and nodded. Then she went back to her seat on my father's lap. How adorable. I looked around at all my friends who seemed to be a little hesitant as to what they should say or do.
I rolled my eyes and looked at them. "So you guys gonna just stare at me or am I gonna get a hug?"
On cue, Brian and Michael jumped out their seats and locked me in a group bear hug.
"You don't know how much we missed you Babe!" Michael squeezed tighter making Brian do the same.
"Seriously. He had a meltdown for like 5 hours straight." Brian teased as he let me go laughing.
"No I didn't! I'm a guy I don't have meltdowns you ass!" Michael smirked and shoved Brian into the table.
"How about I kick your ass and see if you have meltdown then." Brian grinned as he shoved back.
"Ha! Come and try to Brian!" Michael challenged.
Just before they could break out into their traditional brawl, I wrapped an arm around both of their necks and pulled their heads onto my shoulders hugging their faces tightly.
"I missed you idiots and your constant fights!" I said squeezing their heads more.
Everyone laughed.
"Addy, I can't breathe!" Brian complained.
"Me neither but I'm willing to stay like this because your boob is in my face and it feels wonderful." Michael grinned showing off his dimples.
