CH: 7 ~~BARRY~~

                  

I felt my eyes open when I saw Caitlin shaking me, she seemed like she was worried about me since I was laying unconscious on the floor of the entrance to S.T.A.R. Labs.

"What the hell? Where's Zoe?" I asked groggily sitting up from my body laying against the wall and I had no idea what even hit me. The last thing I remembered was confronting Zoe trying to stop her from going off to a fight halfcocked but then everything went black.

"You were unconscious when I found you, Zoe must have went after the metahuman alone and they both seem to vanish an hour ago. Cisco is trying to track the both of them down, I called Oliver to find out Zoe is and he is on his way." Caitlin exclaimed I moved away from the wall trying to stand, I shook off the remaining grogginess inside me. I followed her into the Cortex room seeing Cisco trying to find any information that will help us.

"She seemed pretty upset about that Metahuman." Cisco replied I nodded crossing my arms again, I could sense the anger she had it was like me when I faced the Reverse Flash after what he did to my mother. There had to be some reason why she wanted to go off alone, if Oliver told her that I could help her then why didn't she let me?

"Pretty upset doesn't even describe how she is feeling?" I heard a familiar voice replied, I turned to see it was Oliver who stood in the center and he didn't look too enthused. He moved forward and the unenthused look turned to pure worry. "Where is Zoe? Is she okay?"

"She's not here...she came here to tell us why she was here but then she disappeared after a Metahuman. From whatever she pulled on me I think it is safe to say that she can handle herself out there." I hinted rubbing the back of my neck with my hand to work the small cink in it, I could see Oliver's face not show any sign of any emotion almost like he knew that she could.

"I'm not surprised, she is very skillful...after all I did train her." Oliver replied everyone in the room turned to face him almost like they were surprised by the prodigy that no one knew about. Did Roy, Diggle, Felicity them know about Zoe or was it when Oliver spent time at Lian Yu? Oliver sighed under his breath shaking his head before looking back up at us. "I adopted her when she was sixteen after her parents were killed, her mother is an old friend of mine and I felt like it was the right thing to do instead of letting her daughter be raised by people unfamiliar with her powers. She was filled with so much anger and I helped her learn to control her powers so she could use them to do good in the world like her parents did a long time ago."

"Well I can see that you both share that in common." Cisco mumbled when Oliver snapped his eyes at him and Cisco just slumped into his chair staying silent.

"For the last nine years I have been helping her as she has been searching for her grandfather who was taken by the murderer the night of her family's slaughter. She was able to track him here with her powers so she left Star City and came here." Oliver finished I could understand the pain Zoe was going through, I went through it after my mother's death so if anyone knew what she went through it would be me. That is why Oliver told her to come to me, he knew about my past and I think he was hoping that I would be able to convince her not use her anger to solve this problem.

"Well what makes you so sure that the murderer didn't kill her grandfather a long time ago?" Cisco asked trying to hope Oliver would forget his earlier comment this time everyone snapping there eyes at him then returned his gaze to Oliver.

"Because Giovanni Zatara is a very powerful sorcerer, his daughter Zatanna and his granddaughter Zoe are almost as equally as powerful. Meaning it takes a lot of power to kill them, power the murderer used up when killing Zoe's mother and father. All I know is that if Giovanni is still alive it means that the murderer is planning to use the celestial event to draw up enough power to kill both Giovanni and Zoe." Oliver explained I felt a huge lump inside my chest, I had no idea where Zoe even was now and if the murderer was that Metahuman from earlier and if he got her.

"What does he want with Zoe and her grandfather?" I asked Oliver looked over at me moving a small bit leaving him about a few feet from each other.

"I don't know for sure because Zoe had kept that part a secret from me but whatever it is has her hellbent on stopping him." Oliver answered everyone fell silent, if Oliver knew we let her go after the possible murderer alone then I think I will have more arrows shot at me then I can count. "Look Zoe is one of the best I ever trained; she is highly intelligent, skilled with hand to hand combat and she can get herself out of anything. I don't doubt she can hold her own in a fight no matter who it is but that doesn't mean that she can't get herself killed if her anger is controlling her. I left Star City under Diggle's and Roy's protection after Felicity told me Caitlin called about Zoe. So now I'll ask again is she alright? Where is she?" I could see the care in Oliver's eyes, he must have thought of Zoe like a daughter and he seemed like he was very protective over her.

"Why don't you ask me yourself?" a voice asked causing him to turn around and we both saw Zoe standing there wearing her costume still without anything to shield her eyes. She looked exhausted and soaking wet from her fight with the metahuman, I could tell she was ready to collapse but was keeping herself up. My eyes focused on the gash on the side of her face with some blood dripping down her cheek. She seemed unaffected by this and just kept her eyes locked onto Oliver who had his eyes locked onto Zoe. "Hello Oliver..."
