Chapter 4: The Secret of the Lab

(Al's POV)

A/N- Sorry if it gets cheesy :) 

After all of these years, I've had the same feelings for Y/N. Ever since I was 8 and saw her being carried by Mom, I knew that she would never be just a friend to me. I knew that I would give up anything to protect her. With or with out automail, with or without a voice.

I've always wanted to tell her this, but I've never been able to. She probably wouldn't have the same feelings for me anyways. I'm just a walking tin can... (You aren't a walking tin can, precious cinnamon bun)

Maybe I can tell her soon...

(3rd Person POV)

After Major Armstrong, Ross and Broch left, the three of you made a plan after hearing there was a "5th Laboratory" that was 'shut down'.

Ed would go in first, followed by you and Alphonse would stand guard. That's the basics of the plan the three of you had created. You would then see what played out, whether it be good or bad. All three of you got prepared for the worst, especially you. 

(Did I forget to mention that you are absolutely badass? Well, you are :D)

You have two swords strapped to your back so that just the handles show, two short swords on your outer thighs, a dagger strapped to your right calf with hidden blades on your wrists. (Yes, you do have the hidden blades from Assassin's Creed.) Even though you were the youngest out of the three of you, you were the best at combat. Let's just say, you have gotten Ed and Al out of more situations than you can count.

You sneak out of the window, Al exiting first since it would be easiest to have him exit first. Next it was Ed, and You last. You unhook the cloth from the chair inside the room and jump, rolling on the ground once you land. You motion for Ed and Al to start going and you follow them.

Once you get to the gate, you realize that your only way in (which is up) is lined with barb wire. Luckily, that won't be a problem with your bodies. 

Ed gets up first with a boost from Al. He then boosts you up to where Ed is so you can go over. Ed starts to untangle the barb wire while you bring it down. After that's done, Al climbs up the fence and uses the barb wire to climb down into the facility. 

After around 5 minutes of searching, the three of you find a vent in the building where you and Ed can get in. Al is too big to fit, so he will stand guard while you and Ed go inside the building just like it was planned.

Al boosts Ed up first and then you. You give a thumbs up to say thanks. 

"Uh, Y/N?"

You turn towards Al. "So, I've wanted to tell yo-"

"C'mon! Let's get going." Ed interrupts. Al sighs and you give him an apologetic smile before heading towards Ed. 

You crawl through the vents until the two of you see an opening. Ed pushes open the vent cover and the two of you jump down into the room. You both see a drawing on the ground and the two of you immediately recognize what it is. "It's a Human Transmutation circle," Ed says.

"So, I see you've figured out what this lab is for." a voice says.

"You work here. You must know something about the Philosopher's Stone!" 

"I can't tell you. But, if the girl beats me in a duel, then I will give you information." 

Ed's eyes widen and he looks towards you. You shrug, accepting the challenge of the duel. "Well then, before we begin, I should tell you my name.

"I am number 48. Now tell me yours."

"Her name is Y/N." Ed says.

"I want her to tell me, not you boy."

"She can't tell you. She has no voice." 

You nod towards Ed, telling him that it was okay that he told Number 48.

"I see. Well, let the duel begin."

A/N- I'm so cruel, leaving you on a cliffhanger >:)

 In the next chapter, I will start with Al like I did with this chapter. I will then switch to 3rd POV.

I will try to follow the plot of Brotherhood as much as possible all the way until the end and make a little epilogue. The epilogue will be what happens after everything.
