I could hide from him,
But somewhere,
My courage was hidden.

It was impossible not to yell when I saw him. Scream his name in longing and love. He was there, then he was gone. His face was determined, but his eyes told me he was also confused. I heard girls murmur.
'The beta! Wow, he's gorgeous"
'Yes! Your hair is perfect!"

"Cherry, Cherry, Cherry!" My friend nudged me. "What's wrong? We're going to be late for class!"
It was then I realised the halls were empty.
"Oh, no, nothing" I lied.

The day was boring. Dull and boring. The only colour was the colour of my lips. I was never told off for it, of course. I'm the alpha's daughter. My other friends were asked to take it off immediately.

I didn't need to concentrate in lessons. My grades would still be good. No teacher would dare give the alpha's daughter a bad grade. It would be the teacher's fault if I did badly.

We had to do three hours of training- two hours in school, and one hour outside of school.

There were girls there, dressed in skimpy sport's bra's and shorts, but I stood there, in a simple tee shirt and jogging bottoms.

My red lipstick was taken off for the final training session.

I was glad to be at home, as I nvited some of my friends over for a sleepover. They would talk about boy's, and I would try to join in.

"Hey, Cherry. Why aren't you interested in boy's like us? Are you already 'mated'?" she giggled, thinking she was funny, but she was actually true.
"I am!" I lied.
"We can see through you, Cherry"
"Okay, I'm not"
"I can list all the boy's who like you-theres: Nate, Josh, Zach-"
"Zach?" I repeated.

His name made my ears prick.

"Aw. Little Zach. I can remember playing with him when we were little. Aw. He'd always be the king when we built sandcastles. Sweet" I said, jogging my memory.

Phew. I thought I was going to have to enter one of those love triangles. I thought he was going to be a 'second-mate' or something stupid.

Then, someone was knocking at my window. It confused me, as my bedroom was on the top floor of the house.

I opened the window.

Boy's.

Stupid ones, at that.

"Can you let us in?" The one who knocked on the window asked.
"No" I said, shutting the window. The girl's sighed.
"We'll meet you outside" I said, through the crack in the window.

"What? What will my parents say?" My friend, Annabelle said.
"Nothing. They won't notice us"
