When I update, I know I do not update much :( I’m not inspired to.

Well, I have had so many reads but only…eight votes.

I’m trying, but if no one is really enjoying it…then why should I write?

Please, give it a vote, and it will make me want to write more (:

Okay, so here goes.

I lay in bed that night, cold, alone. The darkness covered me like a thick blanket, and I couldn’t see anything around the room, except for some silhouettes of my furniture.

I can’t shift, it can’t even be right. I’m not even supposed to be in this pack. I was…adopted.

The untouchable alpha’s daughter.

Yeah, right.

I’m just the human who’s soon going to be thrown aside and put into the human world when I’m eighteen. I have no right to be here. Yet how can I forget this world?

How can I leave who is closest to me?

How can I leave my mate?

The thought of him made me ache. I’d tried to forget him and this rejection.

Maybe I could find someone else human? I mean, I was reasonably pretty.

I can’t explain my background to an innocent human? He will feel terrorized by me, like all humans are.

I tossed and turned over in bed, till I finally gave up on sleep. I got out, and decided to go down to the games room.

Ew. I hate teenage boys. Hopefully, they’ll be asleep now. It is three in the morning.

I sat down in a comfortable game’s chair - one that wasn’t covered in fast food and chip packets- and turned the television on.

It was hot outside, so all I had decided to wear to bed were some tiny cotton shorts and a vest.

I thought that would be fine, and would keep me cool, but I never guessed that this would happen.

I realised it was a Saturday night, and there was usually some party going on down the street. Usually, the boy’s would be out there.

Uh-oh.

This was the usual time they would be coming home.

It was too late for me to run back up and pretend to sleep, as I heard sounds of laughter and a key going into the door.

I stayed perfectly still.

They filed upstairs, laughing, until a couple of them came in here.

“Oh, what are you doing here, Cherry?” Mike asked, putting an empty plastic cup on the table.
“Sitting here”

My mate was going to stay over here for the night, wasn’t he?

Oh, right, that’s it. I can’t tell he’s my mate because I’m human.

Yeah, but I’ve already heard the gossip he’s my mate.

“Josh, Josh, come here, your little sweetie was waiting for you”
Josh stood by the door, staring at me. Then, he moved his gaze to Mike. “Er…what are you talking about, Mike?” He tried to hide a blush that was forming on his cheeks.

No, I did not feel humiliated when all the boy’s walked in, and I was slouching on the chair.

They were the closest thing I had to family.

“Your mate, you idiot” Mike told him, sitting on the sofa.
“Can’t you see she’s human?” My mate, Josh, told him.
“Ouch. I’ll be in pain for days” I said, my voice inflectionless.
Josh shot me a quick stare, as if he was concluding something in his head.

He used to be so nice. Then, when he turned twenty, and got to be beta, he changed.

“Anyway, she’s basically in kindergarten. She’s fit-” He stopped himself when he realised he said fit. Then he started again “Fifteen” He emphasised the f’s. He grabbed my hand. This was some crazy experiment, as he dropped it, as if my arm had given him a shock.
“Do you want the truth?” I asked the boys, my voice tired. “I don’t care, you’re listening anyway” I paused, pursing my lips “He knows I’m his mate. But, I’m fifteen. I don’t know if I’m going to shift, and it’s not like I can tell he’s my mate, while I’m fifteen and human. We’ll have to wait until I’m sixteen, and if I shift…” I smiled at Josh “He can see if I accept him. Look at him, he can barely control himself” I smiled again, then stood up. “Yeah, he rejected me as soon as people found out I wasn’t ‘spirit’. It’s lucky he’s a wolf. Because I won’t be”

I left the now-crowded room.
