"Guys, this is serious!" I shouted, and they still did not stop drooling.

I ran off into the woods to shift, and came back out to them, growling.

They all started shifting immediately, and the only way we could talk was by using our thoughts, so I started talking.
Right, this is going to be easy. I can hear them preparing to ambush us, so can I have twelve wolves over on the right, and twelve on the left. 5 more experienced fighters prepare to kill the front line, and can I have  the rest behind that mountain?

I tried to guide my thoughts along a straight path, so they wouldn't get to hear about Colton.
Stop, stop, stop, lover-girl! One of the wolves thought.
I growled in reply.

The rogues appeared. They were scruffy, but also scary.
What do they want from us?
They're going to kill us!
SHUT UP GUY'S!
I ordered, and I heard them whimpering.

The beta started talking to me.

He smelt of citrus and pine leaves, an amazing smell, but I guessed it was just from the pot-purri they were using in the tents.

Where should I fight?
Alongside me.
Wait, why is your voice weird?
I wondered why his voice sounded so smooth, so reliable, even when he was clearly scared.
I'm asking you the same question.
Huh. Odd. I started coughing, and he started patting me on the back.

This shift was taking a while to get accustomed to.

My mom and dad had me when...they weren't exactly young. So it's forced me into becoming an alpha much younger than I should have done. I should become alpha in four years, but my dad couldn't wait as long, and they thought it would be cruel to pass on the title.

This is why the rogues are attacking.

Because of me.

I heard them coming closer, and I was immediately in attack mode. Others mimicked my position.

They stood on the top of the cliff, and then, we started fighting. Not a word needed to be said.

We finished, after a while of more ambushes, they were all dead.

Of course, not our pack, but the rogues.

We left without a scratch.

Go to the hall, and tell the pack to go as well. Leave the humans at home. I will be there soon .
