Chapter 9

Lucy POV

I woke up on my back somewhere around midnight to the sounds of my baby crying. I turned to my side and closed my eyes again, trying to wait for her to go back to sleep. I do that because I she's old enough to have to learn to go back to sleep on her own. When the cries didn't falter, I got out of bed to see what was wrong with my daughter.

It has been exactly one year since I left Fairy Tail, and my baby was now three months old. When I gave birth to her and found out she was a girl, I named her Nashi Layla Dragneel. I have gone through night after night of non stop crying for the past few months Nashi has been in the world. She doesn't cry as much anymore, but it's tiring when she does.

I walked into her room and picked her up and cradled her in my arms. Her cries softened but didn't stop.

"Oh, what's wrong baby?" I whispered soothingly in her ear. She then looked up at me in the most adorable way. She hiccupped and then grabbed the collar of my shirt, as if asking me to talk some more. I took the hint and started singing to her softly.

As Nashi slowly began to fall back asleep, I gently placed her back inside of her crib. I made sure she was asleep before leaving the nursery and going back to bed myself.

As I layed in bed, my mind immediately shifted to Natsu. It's been a year since I last talked to him, but only seven minths since I last saw him... Thinking about him only saddened me. Every time I thought about his smile, or his laugh, or the way he looked at me, I would miss him even more.

I sighed as I rolled over in my bed. I'm going to have to toughen up because I know this is how I'm going to live for the rest of my life. But I couldn't help but hope just a little bit, that maybe, one day we might be reunited.

Gray POV

I sat at the bar as I drank out of my cup.

It's been a year since Lucy left Fairy Tail, and Natsu's stupid attitude wasn't helping either. The idiot couldn't stop looking for her, he was desperate to know what happened to her I guess.

The Hothead even stopped picking fights with me! He was being so irritating, that I wanted to punch him in the face! I guess I can't blame him though... He's been missing Lucy a lot lately... But that goes for everyone here. Me, Erza, Levy, Happt, etcetera. We all missed her, but obviously not as much as Flamebrain. Who, may I add, was looking for Lucy this very moment.

You could say I've been doing fine. Other than the fact I've been fighting tbe urge to punch Natsu, and I have to admit, it's pretty hard.

I just have to say, it hasn't been as lively without Lucy here.

Erza POV

I was sitting at a table eating my strawberry cake when Natsu came in. I sighed as I set down my fork and looked in Natsu's direction. He looked pretty disappointed.

He took a seat across from me and just stared at his folded hands on the table. "Any luck?" I asked.

Natsu took a second before he answered. "No." He said in a low voice. I have to admit though, I was pretty upset to here that. I mean, Lucy was my friend, and knowing that she's missing was extremely unsettling.

"Oh." I said sadly.

I could hear Natsu start to breath harder. "Dammit!" He yelled as he punched the table leaving me completely unfazed. He then rubbed his face distressingly. He stood up and walked towards the guild doors.

"Where are you going?" I asked as kept my attention on my cake and causing him to stop.

"I have to keep looking." He whispered and walked out the door, and I did nothing to stop him.
