..."...This all goes to show...just how little you really know...About the way that we are..."...

"Yes." Faith answers as she nods her head at my father; I keep her hand in mine to not just bring her comfort but to bring myself comfort as well.

I don't quite know where my dad might take this conversation...

"I think the only person in this room with blinders on is me. I have been blind to the two of you. I mean I knew my son loved you and I knew you loved him but what I just witnessed, right here at this table, makes me see how real that love is. I want you both to know how sorry I am for doing or saying anything about your relationship that might have hurt you or made you angry. I need to stop being such an old man and just leave you two alone. Landon you are already and adult and Faith, you will be an adult in about three months; I promise to start treating the both of you as adults instead of children."

"Thank you Henry."

"Thank you dad."

"You're welcome. I promise to do my best but don't be too hard on me if I slip from time to time." My dad chuckles.

"Speaking of promises...dad will you please tell Faith she is off the hook for the promise she made to you?"

"Landon!" Faith shrieks.

"What promise?" Dad asks in confusion.

"Come on Faith, this is the perfect time to put an end to this. Dad just said he would treat us as adults."

"I won't be an adult for three months."

"Who cares, close enough." I say with a shrug that I instantly regret because a sharp pain rips through my broken collarbone.

"Can we not do this?" Faith says through her teeth as she glares at me.

I want to laugh at her but I know better than to make her feel like this is a joke right now.

"Faith, why won't you stop being so unreasonable?" I practically groan...Christ she's stubborn.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa...what are you two talking about?" My dad interrupts the argument between Faith and I.

Faith just looks at me with her mouth tightly closed...guess I will be the one to tell my dad then...

"Faith told you that she wouldn't have sex with me as long as she lives under your roof; tell her she doesn't have to keep that promise dad." Halfway through my sentence; Faith jumps out of her seat and walks into the kitchen to start cleaning up the mess from dinner.

"I don't expect you to keep that promise Faith. You and Landon are adults and what the two of you do in private is your business, not mine." My dad calls into the kitchen.

"Okay." Faith quietly replies as she continues to clean the kitchen.

I feel bad that she's embarrassed but at least it's done and over with now.

"Why don't you let me clean the kitchen since you did all the cooking Faith?" My dad offers as he shoots a wink at me...geez...

"No thank you Henry. You worked hard all day; this is the least I can do."

"You took care of Landon all day." He counters.

"I did that because I wanted to not because I had to. There's a difference."
