..."...I'm shaking, all my luck could change...Been in the dark for weeks and I've realized...you're all I need and...I hope that I'm not too late...I hope I'm not too late..."...

"I pretty much knew that but Faith denied it when I asked her about it. I'm surprised she told you about it. When Ian went jail Faith said she would never speak his name again."

"It was really hard to hear but she told me what he did to her. He might have only raped her that one time but he beat her on lots of occasions. He even forced her to have sex with some dude he owed money to."

"Poor girl." My dad says quietly and I'm almost shocked when I see Jake wiping tears off his face.

"That was almost four years ago though. I doubt Ian even cares about Faith anymore." Callie says dismissively.

"I think you're wrong Callie. He wrote to her almost the entire time he was in jail and he was always sending his friends over with cell phones to try to get Faith to talk to him. She never took any of his calls and she never wrote him back. She even went as far as to return each letter he sent to her, unopened, to try to get him to take the hint that she didn't want anything to do with him anymore. I know it's been almost a year since he last tried to contact her but that doesn't mean he won't try to find her now that he's out of jail."

"I never knew all of that. Faith never told me that he wrote to her or tried to call her." Callie says sadly; I think her feelings are hurt because Faith didn't tell her these things even though Callie is her best friend.

"Landon you said, you and Faith saw him at the diner; did he see Faith?" My father asks.

"No, Faith practically hid under the table until he was gone."

"Do you remember what he looked like?" Jake asks.

The murderous tone to my best friends voice, makes me turn to look at him. His light brown eyes are slightly darkened as I study him.

I've seen this look on his face before...

He's ready to hunt down Ian and beat the living shit out of him for what he did to Faith.

Jake Anderson is in for a rude awakening, if he thinks he's any kind of match for Faith's ex.

"I know exactly what he looks like. He's a fucking monster. I think it would take four dudes to take him down because he's so huge." I tell Jake, making sure to put emphasis in my words so he understands that Ian isn't just some run of the mill asshole.

"Four dude or one pissed of Styles." Jake laughs.

"There's no way in hell I could take him Jake. I might have handed Jon Tull his own asshole but he was drunk and he is nowhere near the size of this Ian guy."

"I think you doubt yourself too much." Jake says dismissively.

"Look Jake, the pissed off part, I got that completely covered...you really have no idea, to be honest. Pissed off or not, even if I had you to back me up, Ian would still kick my ass and then probably beat your ass with what's left of my dead body."

"Okay boys, why don't we put the ass beating debate away for now and let's all get back out there and see if we can't find Faith." My dad says in a scolding tone.

I shoot him an apologetic look as I rise from my chair.

Dad just pats me on the back as he follows me out of the kitchen.
