I look down at my beautiful ring, trying to delete every last second thought or doubt.
Last night I spent time with Molly, my cousin, and one of my friends who happened to get there early for my last night of being single. They gave me lots of advice, and also tried to reassure me that I was making the right decision.
Most of that night, I was wondering what Sherlock and John were doing. I was hoping that they weren't doing what I heard they did on John's stag night.
Anyway, Molly told me that she bought a watch for Sherlock as a wedding present, so I was devious, and let her have his old one. He won't mind, I'm sure.
The woman who helped me get into my dress, and styled my hair, says, "It's time, sweetheart. It's okay to have butterflies. I remember my wedding day; it was full of wedding jitters, too." She's a nice, middle-aged lady, who has small wrinkles under her bluish-grey eyes. Her name is Jessie, she told me after that. She looks so nice in her purple dress.
My dress is sort of different from other wedding dresses. Yes, it's white. Yes, it has a veil. But there's a clip-on piece that makes it look lengthy, when the dress itself sits just above my knees. You can't see my legs at all, with the clip piece on. Which is awesome, so no one can see my knees shaking. I wanted a shorter dress, so I won't trip on it while dancing.
The doors open, and I see all the guests standing all around me. I see Sherlock, standing at the altar, and my knees buckle. I trip, but am caught, and there are loud gasps all around the room. The person who caught me (and is still holding me) has a gun in their free hand. Oh no.
I look up past my hair to see Moriarty, dressed in a white suit, smiling at me. He says, "Hello, everyone. Sorry I'm late. I'm just going to give the bride a present, that's all."
I feel the cold metal on the left side of my forehead, and stop struggling. I'm not deathly scared, but I'd rather not have my brains blown out onto the church floor.
Moriarty says, "I think I'll give her the gift of flight...off the hospital roof."
Sherlock blurts, "NO!"
Moriarty chuckles, and says, "Oh, we got him to say something. Come along, peaches."
I start struggling again, as he's dragging me away, then I lock eyes with the Doctor.
He mouths, "Sherlock."
I whimper, and feel Moriarty's grip tighten. Before I lose sight of the people, I scream, "SHERLOCK!"
I hear his voice, but I'm pulled into a cab, onto Moriarty's lap.
I jolt upright, to a sitting position, and say, "Way to ruin my wedding day."
He laughs, holding the gun to my head.
