"AGHH." Phillip woke up. He was breathing heavily. "It was just a dream."
He was relieved it was not real.

"I see you are awake too." Cass said. She too had a nightmare. It was all about killer clowns. She hated clowns. They looked creepy and she never felt comfortable around them. "I had a bad dream too."

"The fear is getting into our heads." He did not want to tell Cass about his dream. It was too private. He did not want to say it because it involved her. Yes, he loved her. She was different from other girls he met. "It is best if we try to sleep again. We will need a lot of energy when we go exploring again."

She agreed. "I'm still kinda scared." She said.

Phillip smiled to her. "It is ok. I am always here. I'll hold your hand if you want?"

"That would be nice." Cass felt a sense of protection. She slowly feel into a deep slumber while holding Phillip's hand.

Scratch. Scratch.

They heard from the basement.

"Something is down there. Maybe it is a raccoon or something." Reign said.

It was now 7:00 in the morning. Time for everyone to get up and try to find freedom. The group went to the kitchen and checked if there was any food. They opened the drawers and the fridge. All they found was one bottle of water and a small half-eaten granola bar.

"This is all we got." Phillip said. He broke the half-eaten granola bar into four pieces so that everyone can eat. He then distributed the bars.

"Isn't this old or something. This must be a billion years old." Mal complained.

"Mal, this is the only food we will get. It is either eat it or leave it." Cass said. She knew the value of food because her mom had taught her well. One time, her mom showed her a video of a family eating from a dumpster. The family ate the left over meat from the bones of the chicken. It was gross but that was the only thing that could let the family stay alive. "We are actually lucky that we could eat something. At least we are not starving."

Mal thought carefully. It is true. Food is a something to be thankful for. "Fine, I will eat it."

They all took a bite of the little bars they had. It tasted old but it gave enough energy for them to carry on.

"How about the water? How are we gonna split it?" Reign asked.

"Maybe there are cups around here." Cass said. She opened a drawer and found 3 cups. "I think this won't be enough for us all." She gave a cup to Reign and then one to Mal. She also handed one to Phillip. She was left with no cups.

"I'll share with you." Phillip insisted.

Cass thought it was a nice gesture. "Thanks."

Then, a noise broke the silence. The tv in the living room opened.
