I ran after him. How could he toy with me like that? I laughed thinking about it. It's silly of me to be mad at him. We met up at a tree where he was chopping bark for the fire. He smirked and handed me an ax. It was heavy and old. I swung at the tree and some bark came off. Another boy was working with us and did a catcall as I bent over and swung. I stood straight and looked at him. He didn't have much features. He had brown hair and blue eyes. He had to be an inch shorter than Newt or so. He smiled at me and continued to chop at the tree. Newt glared at him but I ignored it. We chopped the tree until we couldn't anymore. It took us about two hours, but we did it. Then I remembered I had to make lunch. I dropped the ax and ran. Newt and the other boy called out to me.
"I have to make lunch!!" I yelled back.
When I arrived at the kitchen someone I didn't expect to see was there.
Gally was sitting on a stool with his hands folded and his eyes glaring at me."Um. Do you need something?" I asked quietly while putting gloves on. He laughed darkly and shook his head.
"We've got a problem missy. Everyone thinks that you're stronger than me. And that's a problem," he said while getting up.
"That's not my problem. Deal with it yourself," I said.
He got up and advanced towards me. I stepped back and hit the door. He grabbed my hands and pinned them above my head. His grip hurt. It hurt badly. I thought the blood might stop flowing.
"I think it is your problem. Now tonight after you finish your shift, we're gonna try this again. Make sure you lose or else I'll make your life miserable."
I scoffed. What could he do. It's not like he could do much I mean, we are stuck in a maze. He can't ruin a job, or harm my family if I have one. Family. A strange word to everyone here. Alby says that all of us in the Glade are a different kind of family. We're a type of family that'll do anything to help the rest. Gally pulled me back into reality.
"Did you hear me Greenie? You gonna be a good little girl?" Gally asked mockingly.
I spit on him. He pulled back and rubbed his eyes. I ran out of the kitchen and out into the rest of the Glade. I could hear him shouting at me. I ran past Newt and the boy and grabbed my ax and ran to higher ground. There was a sort of balcony type thing. I ran up and kept the ax close. The boys quickly noticed my actions and came close, though they all stayed on the ground. Someone called up to me. Newt.
"Y/n! What are you doing!?" He yelled up.
The boy from before offered to come up and calm me down a little. The other boys told him no, but he was already up. I saw his bright blue eyes stare into my e/c ones.
"Hey. Put the ax down." His voice was calming and surprisingly sweet.
"Is Gally down there? I'll only put it down if he leaves," I said to him.
He looked over the rail and yelled at Gally to go back to his job. I could hear Gally mumbling as he left. I dropped the ax and went down.
"I'm going to get back to chopping wood," he said. As he walked away, he shouted.
"Oh! My name is Cole by the way!"
He waved without looking back. Newt scoffed at him. Alby started to yell at everyone to get back to work. I was walking to the kitchen when Minho grabbed my arm.
"What's cooking Greenie?" He said with a smile.
"Nothing cause I ain't in the kitchen," I joked.
He laughed and walked with me to the kitchen. When we got there, Frypan scolded me for being late. Minho had left by the time I started cooking. The dinner rush was easy. Nothing really happened. Frypan left to check up on something with Alby. He wouldn't tell me what though. After I washed the dishes I went out. Newt, Minho, Gally, Frypan, and Alby where talking about something. I started walking towards them but someone stopped me. Cole.
"Not today (Y/n). Afraid you can't join their little gossip circle today. Come on." He started dragging me away.
I looked back at the boys while Cole was dragging me away to a small tree. He sat me down and put his head on mine.
"There's something I want to tell you. I think I..."
A/n- HAHAHA CLIFFHANGER AGAIN. Whoops
