I woke up because I heard a door close. Louis also woke up. We looked over towards the kitchen. My dad just got home. I looked at the clock. It's almost one in the morning. I looked at Louis. When we got home I went upstairs and changed into some sweatpants and a plain t-shirt. Louis went back to his house and changed into some flannel pajama pants and an England National Football Team shirt. When he came back over we decided to watch a movie. Of course we had to watch Grease though. We fell asleep in the middle of it. Louis still had his arm around me.
"Hi dad. You got back late." I smiled at him.
"Hey, I thought you would be in bed." He came over and gave me a kiss.
"We got back tonight and we wanted to watch a movie. We ended up falling asleep during it though." My dad looked at his watch.
"Louis, do you have a curfew because it's almost one."
"Not on weekends I don't. Oh yeah it's now Saturday." Louis smiled, "Happy Birthday."
"Happy Birthday sweetheart." My dad gave me a kiss on the forehead.
"Thanks." I smiled.
"So how was your date?" My dad asked.
"It was..." I looked at Louis, "Louis, how would you describe it?"
"Let's just say yesterday was the perfect day. Starting from school and then from that and on."
"Sounds like a good day. How'd did you guys end up with the game?" My dad asked as he sat down across from us.
"Oh, that's where things really got exciting." I smiled.
"Well, we won and now we are in first."
"That's great." My dad smiled.
"Also, I got the assist for the first goal and I scored the second goal. I was named MVP and got the match ball. Then," Louis smiled, "I had a football scout from Chelsea talk to me saying that he's going to keep an eye on me. He said I have talent."
"Wow, so you had a really good day then. That's fantastic. Congratulations!" My dad smiled. I know he's tired.
"Dad, you're somehow still awake right now. Just go to bed." I told him.
"Ok, thank you. I'll see you in the morning. Well in a few hours but you know what I mean. Goodnight." My dad gave me a kiss and then went upstairs.
"Well, I should probably go home." Louis said.
"No, can we just stay like this?" I asked and took his hand. I have to get used to having those promise rings on.
"Sure, let's go back to sleep because I'm tired." He smiled and I chuckled.
"Ok." We leaned back and drifted back to sleep.I woke up to the sweet sweet smell of chocolate chip pancakes. My favorite breakfast. I looked at the clock. It's ten o'clock almost. Then a soft kiss was planted on my cheek.
"Good morning birthday girl." Louis said softly and held my hand. I looked into the kitchen. My mom was playing The Rolling Stones quietly in the kitchen as she was making pancakes. I'm guessing my dad just woke up due to him still being in sweatpants and sipping on his coffee. I stood up.
"Mom, this is my favorite song. Turn it up." I told her as I walked into the kitchen. She flipped one more pancake then came over to me.
"Happy Birthday Schmoopie!" She had to use my most embarrassing nickname. It's from one of her favorite shows, Seinfeld. She gave me a hug and a kiss.
"Thank you mom." I smiled.
"Schmoopie?" Louis questioned as he walked over.
"Do you know the show Seinfeld?" I asked him.
"No." He responded.
"There is an episode when that word is used as a nickname. Don't ever use it though." I told him.
"Ok, I won't, Schmoopie." He said with a chuckle.
"Louis come on. It's her birthday." My dad said.
"Well you got to pick on the birthday girl at least once." He chuckled.
"Alright, I can agree on that." My dad smiled and took a sip of his coffee, "Happy Birthday sweetie." I just smiled back.
"So what are the plans for today?" My mom asked.
"I don't know? Wait, are thought we were all doing something?" I'm confused.
"No, I talked to your parents. Niall, Harry, Andy, and I have you for the day. Then tonight you guys are having a nice dinner together." Louis told me.
"Aw, ok. I think that might be good for you guys actually. You guys can have a nice long nap. Mom, you are taking a nap. You work too long." I told her and she laughed.
"Ok, but how about some breakfast?" My mom smiled.
"Skye, do you want coffee?" Louis asked me.
"Yeah."
"Ok." He walked over and grabbed two mugs out. He's making himself some tea.
"I'll be right back. I have to use the bathroom." I went upstairs to my bathroom and closed the door. I don't actually have to use the bathroom. I just can't stop smiling. First last night then I know today will be great. I looked into the mirror and held the heart on the necklace. Then I looked at the ring. They are two silver rings. On mine there is half of a heart that is gold then on Louis is the other half of a heart in black. I can hear what Louis told me last night over and over. It was just so sweet. Then him playing and singing one of my favorite songs. He does have a really good voice. Yesterday was too perfect and today is just going to add on to that perfect day isn't it? I should probably get back to the kitchen. I left my room and to the kitchen. Louis was just finishing up on the coffee and tea.
"Skye, Louis said that you wanted to ask us something for your birthday?" My dad looked at me as Louis handed me my coffee. I looked at Louis. He raised his eyebrows. Oh I know what he's talking about.
"Um, I was wondering is you would let me now be me. As in, I can let my hair down, I can show my tattoos in public, and I can choose whether or not to wear my glasses." I told my parents. They looked at each other.
"Skye, we have you have your hair up and cover your tattoos so you're ready for the future and you have to have a good job." My dad told me.
"But dad, I'm eighteen. I haven't even gone to university yet. I'm a teenager and I'm not even close to having a real career yet. So for now, I want to be able to wear what I want. When the day comes for that first real career interview then I will be ready then. Just not now. I'm still young." I told them.
"Ok." My mom replied right away almost as if she was going to cut me off.
"Ok what?" I wondered.
"I agree. You are still young. We either treat you like your six or twenty-six. You're right. You should be able to wear what you want, within reason though." My mom told me. I smiled.
"Ok, but if your grades slip just the slightest we won't allow it anymore. Do you understand me?" My dad put his coffee down. He's dead serious.
"Yes, I understand." I nodded.
"Ok, come on. Let's eat." My dad grinned. We actually all sat down at the dining room table. We haven't used this table since we've moved here. I like it though. I started to pour syrup on my pancakes.
"So, what did you two do last night? How was the date?" My mom asked.
"It was fantastic." I smiled.
"What did you two do?" She asked.
"We just went to dinner and came back here and watched a movie." Louis smiled.
"That's nice. Did you give her that necklace last night?" My mom pointed to my necklace.
"Yeah." Louis looked at the necklace.
