Captain J. says”, Put the baby on the bed.” He gives her the baby and follows her into the room. She places the baby on the middle of the bed. “How do you know my name?” She asks.
Captain J. is confused. She is Alza but she does not remember. There are no signs of age on her. Actually, she reminds him of how Alza looked the first time he met her. He grabs her arm and turns her around. He analyzes her face with his eyes and he kept coming up with the same answer.
He sees Alza and her voice is just like Alza’s voice. He touches her cheeks and she pulls away from him. “Did Doctor Ganashbe tell you my name?” She asks. “No, he did not tell me anything,” he said.
He thought of all these years that he spent missing her. He wondered if Doctor Ganashbe was playing a cruel joke on him. He did not know what was going on, but he does not want to lose her again. She briskly walks out of the room and he follows her again. She picks up her veil and he snatches it from her. “I need that,” she says.
“You do not need this around me,” he says. She tries to grab the veil but he moves it out of her reach. She knows that the doctor is going to be mad. She gives up and sits on the couch. She did not know what to tell the doctor or what to do.
He sits by her on the couch and he watches her eyes move. She was lost in thought. He grabs her face and forces her to look at him. She tries to pull the veil that is being pressed against her face out of his hands, and he presses his lips against her closed mouth. Her eyes open wide and she tries to push him away.
She thinks about the time this happened with Janz. The doctor was so mad. That he put them in different rooms. He just would not stop kissing her. She tries to push him away again but he overpowers her and continues. She thinks of Janz and how angry he got when the doctor grabbed her hand to lead her to a chair.
He killed two of their teachers. He told her”, I did not like how close they were to you.” The doctor used to let them play with the children at the hospital, but he stopped because Janz broke a boy’s leg. Janz told her”, the boy hugged you inappropriately.” She was twelve and Janz was twenty-one years of age.
The boy that hugged her was only ten years of age. This cannot end well especially if Janz finds out. She tugs the short curls on his head and he releases her. She grabs her veil, but it is trapped in his clutch. She releases it and runs to the door and he roughly pulls her hand towards him.
She spins into his arms and he holds her in a tight embrace. At the hospital, Janz walks into the waiting room on crutches. He sees Amalium and asks him”, Where is she?” “A nurse took her,” Amalium says.
“Where did she take her?”
“Why do you need to know?”
“I have to know! Where is she?”
“She is at the nurse’s house.”
Amalium notices that the straitjacket man’s teeth are smaller than they were earlier. Janz goes outside and Amalium follows him. Janz’s teeth grow longer and his silver eyes glow. He drops the clutches and vanishes before Amalium’s eyes. Janz breathes in the air as he searches for Alza’s scent. Amalium grabs the clutches and runs to the nurse’s house.
Captain J. thinks about Alza’s death. He remembers the year. Two thousand eighteen seemed to be a typical year until she died. He feels her resisting him, but he does not want to let her go. The door is kicked open. Janz walks in and pulls Alza away from the captain.
