“Anything and everything exists in the land of dreams.” –Azairis

Sand is sleeping on a single bed on the second floor. Rapid eye movement has set in. In his dream, he wakes up in a white room. He throws the white sheets off of his body and walks to a white door. The grey and white marble floor is cold, smooth, and shiny. He twists the silver knob and yellow light invades the room and softly shines upon his face. He walks down the left side of a corridor until he sees a counter with double doors on each side of it. A woman in white clothing dressed as a nurse came from underneath the desk. “Please, go back to your room Mister Knight,” she says. “What are behind those doors?” Sand asks.

“There is nothing to see behind either of those doors. Please, go back to your room Mister Knight.”

“If there is nothing behind those doors, why are they there?”

“You are not allowed to go behind those doors Mister Knight. It is best if you go back to the bed in your room. I will escort you, if you want me to.”

“No. It is fine.”

Sand ran through one of the double doors and he hears a faint screaming coming from behind him. He thinks that the nurse really did not want him to go through these doors. He runs down the dimly lit halls that has flickering lights until he came up to a dark room with a missing door and a hinge that is barely holding on to the doorway. A woman with a black dress stands looking at a dreary dark grey sky with her back facing him. As he walks toward her, the wind outside the window begins to howl and make the vegetation sway.

He turns her around. Her hands are covering an area that is underneath the rib cage on the left side. He pulls her hands away and there is a red liquid on the palms of her brown hands. He looks up at her face but he cannot see it. A black veil conceals her face. A deep, booming voice fills the room.

“Taefeire fviae brrre,” it says. “What?” Sand asks. A dagger appears in Sand’s hand. “You killed me,” the veiled woman whispers loudly.

Sand feels something pulling at his white pajama pants. He looks down and sees the nurse. Her clothes are yellow, torn, and frayed. Now, her brown eyes are covered with a thin piece of skin that allows you to see her eyeballs moving around rapidly but does not allow her to blink. Her eyelids and eyelashes are gone. Her body twitches as she digs her sharp nails deeper into the clothing.

She drools from the right side of her mouth as her pale, cracked lips bleed and stretch to an abnormally wide smile. Her teeth are gapped and serrated. “Please, go back to your room Mister Knight,” she says in a hoarse voice. He shakes his head and tries to pull away from her but her left leg wraps around his leg as if they did not have any bones in them.

“I will escort you if you want me to,” she says through her slightly open mouth with her strident voice. “They…wild…monsters…leave before it is too late, the nurse manages to scream as her body convulses and she fades into the darkness within the room. He turns to the window and the veiled woman is gone. An invisible force throws him out of the window. Glass shards follow him to the grassy land outside.

The fall seems endless and he wonders if he was on the one hundredth floor. Just as he hits the ground, he wakes up in a cold sweat and the brown covers that were barely underneath him are partly on the bed but mostly on the floor.

Gorge Territory

Brian walks by his brother’s house and sees crime scene tape surrounding the house. He put his sunglasses on. There is a huge sign on the front lawn that has the words “No Loitering” on it with an exclamation mark. Brian hopes that Bells did not get into any trouble. He walks to the Gorge Corporation and sees a closed sign on the door.
