Chapter 13

Cliche's P.O.V: Arriving In The Capitol

Our train finally arrived at the Capitol and Pat O Lankybottem warned us before we got out about how they'd be shouting and taking pictures of us.

When I got out I saw at least 100 loud people with weird shaped hair and clothes. Then we finally made it into the building where we would train and stay fir now.

"Wow. Did you see how colorful those people were?" said Fuze to me with a teasing look.

"Oh wow! Make fun of me being colorblind! How original!" I said sarcastically.

I rolled my eyes at him and we were off to our stylists.

There were 4 people there. They said their names were Salline, Quinton, Herno, and lastly the main stylist Anastasia. She was the only one who looked nice and I'd imagine not as crazy colored.

They began by getting any unnecessary hair removed and looked me up and down while I was laying there, uncomfortable. They had a brief discussion with Fuze's stylists about what to do. I'll admit I was nervous about what they might put me in but I knew that I was just 13 so it wouldn't be too...flashy.

When they came back they had a ton of fabrics. Salline and Herno stood to the side olding all of the fabrics while Quinton and Anastasia took my sizes and wrote them down. Soon they all left but Anastasia soon came back with a robe.

"Here Cliche, put this on while we make your dress." She handed me the robe and I put it on.

" Can you not make my dress....flashy? Please? I'm only 13..."

"Of course! Soon we'll be back and get you dressed, glamored up, hair done, and off to your chariot!"

She smiled and left. And I started to daydream about my dress...the chariot ride...the interview...the training....and the killing..

Soon enough they were back. They held all together a dress that I LOVED the look off. It was strapless with what they said was dark gray on my chest area and those sewed in belts that was right where my chest ended and stomach started. The rest of it was said to be light gray with a lighter fabric all over it mimicking the lines and dots I had seen on the orphanage's computer...... Mainly when it crashed and on bits of it...I'm not the best technician... Anyway it was a perfect fit and not at all flashy.

Now they started everything else. Quinton did my nails and painted a similar design on them as my dress with a supposed gray background and black lines, apparently same for my toes but with an apparent black background and bright green lines. Salline did my hair. made it wet then braided it to the end then wrapped it around my head and pinned the twirl to my scalp and placed a big bow on top and said it was the same nail green. Anastasia did my makeup. It was some said light gray eye shadow and green eye liner. With the liner made some dots around the side farthest from my nose. And Herno did my shoes. They showed my toes but covered up the rest of my foot then the shoes twirled around my shin to my knees the became a bow. He said they were black.

I appreciated how they told me the colors even though I'll forever be colorblind so I don't even know what the colors look like. At least unlike Fuze, they didn't make fun of me.

They showed me myself in the mirror and I'll admit I LOVE how it looks!!

Just as Fuse and I were heading on our chariot, Anastasia and one of his dressers slapped on a pair of cool high-tech- looking shades on us.

Soon we were on our chariot and were shown t the people of the capital.

There were thousands of people in the stands waving, cheering, and clapping at us as we rode past them. Fear gripped me.

" Ugh! You're supposed to wave at them Colorless Cliche!"

I wanted to slap him, but that would have to wait..

Shyly I hold up my hand and wave...
