TURWAITHIEL

I walk along the stone kingdoms many pathways, my heart filled with new hope. Thranduil has come and he is finally reunited with the one he loves. I pray that Mantheniel would get better soon as I make my way to the stone courtyard where everyone else might be. When I arrive, however, I find no one there. It was an odd feeling but I decided to forget it and find the rest of the company. Where could Legolas be? Or Laralen? I had really hoped to see them right away as soon as they arrived.

I take my time, walking slowly and enjoying the rare warmth of the sun. Something about it felt good. Something positive. I let the light bathe me in its warm glow, soaking all the warmth as I passed through the open arches. The breeze carried hope and I welcomed it as it kissed my skin and ran through my hair. I quicken my pace before colliding into a fast moving little thing. I gasp as I stumble backwards upon impact and was surprised to see Bleon looking up at me with apologetic eyes.

"Bleon," I say happily to which he reacts with a shy smile. "Are you looking for your sister?" He gives me a small nod as I offer a hand to him.

"I, as well. Let us search together, hmm?" The little boy takes my hands and together, we search for our missing friends. We found them minutes later still gathered by the entrance and talking in hushed voices. I notice one of the twins seated next to his father by the worn out statue of an elven maid. They seemed to have an entirely different conversation. I noticed Lara was not with them as I look around them before my eyes fall on the familiar golden head of the prince. My heart jumps at the sight of him and I could care less about the sun at the moment for he could very well give me the same warm feeling.

"Your sister is not among them," I say quietly to Bleon who scans the crowd before us before a sad look was painted across his face. "We shall ask them where she is. I bet you a nickel Ari knows exactly where she is." I reassure him. He gives me another curt nod before the both of us make our presence known but before I could speak Legolas had suddenly collapsed, Ari almost falling down with him as she tried to steady him, her arms instinctively thrown around him.

I let go of Bleon's hands and rush to them, my panic building inside my chest. When I reach him, he is already unconscious while Lord Elrond and Elladan join us.

"What is wrong with him?" I ask too quickly as I search for any tell tale signs of what caused him to faint. Was he over fatigue? What was wrong? Ari is silent for a moment before she takes one of Legolas' hands and examines them. She runs a hand over his face before placing a hand on his chest. Her expression changes from worry to confusion as she turns to look at me.

"What is it?" I ask, almost too desperately as I take a hold of his hands which were frighteningly cold.

"I am not sure perhaps he is just tired," she answers although it was obvious she was keeping something from me. I do not miss the urgent look she gives Lord Elrond who returns it before ordering that Legolas be taken to a room where he can rest. I support his head and place it on my lap as we await the elven guards who were to carry him. He stirs in his unconscious state as I try to reign in the panic I was feeling. Ari stands up and suddenly she and Lord Elrond are talking in harsh whispers in one corner.

"Tur..Turwai..thiel..." He murmurs and my heart practically breaks at the sound of his voice. I place a hand on his cold cheek, noticing the paleness of his skin. He looked so beautiful despite there being something obviously wrong with him. The guards came and I was reluctant to let him go as they carried him swiftly. The rest of us follow with me going last, my heart dreading the moment they find something wrong with him. What if he had been put under the spell too? Small hands wrap around my shaking ones and I am suddenly made aware of the little human boy beside me who stared at me with his bright green eyes. Despite having no words said, it was enough to comfort me. He leads us after them and we watch Legolas get placed on a bed with Lord Elrond examining him. Ari paced beside the bed and she looked as if something horrible was troubling her. I stayed by the door, Bleon beside me, his eyes searching for Laralen when a tall figure approaches us.
