-Chapter 10-
There might have been a time
When I would give myself away
Once upon a time
I didn't give a damn
But now here we are
So whataya want from me
—Whataya Want From Me, Adam Lambert
Kaiden stood by the door, face to face with the embodiment of suffering. Around him, the brick wall he had built in the past few days shook with the seismic waves emitted by his heart. In detriment to the bravery he had pumped in his chest to stand square and unaffected, Daniel's presence had him in a headlock. The words that he had practiced over and over in his mind, all the daggers that he had planned to throw at Daniel when he saw him again, evaporated from his mouth—leaving a dry spell that ran to his fauces.
Like they always did.
And that's what engraved anger between his brows. In the past, he would have rushed to hold Daniel. Drop kisses on his temples. Fight away his torments with this unexplainable and unfounded love that made his bones hurt. But his feet were bolted to the floor. At least some body parts still obeyed his command.
Short for words, he went with nonchalance. “What brings you here...Daniel?” Or was it sarcasm?
The man creased his brow. Dan was back to being Daniel, and he caught that. He ran a hand though his hair and let it hang on his nape as he looked down and to the side, setting the other hand on his hip. The chin quivered under lips pressed tight. His eyes shut, and brow gathered slightly more, in well acted pain. Worthy of an Oscar.
Then his head snapped back to Kaiden and shook. “You can't do this to me.”
Next thing Kaiden knew, Daniel's lips crushed against his. The brick wall collapsed as his fingers tangled in Daniel's hair. Daniel cupped Kaiden's head and intruded his mouth, claiming control—undoing any traces of rebellion.
Somehow the door slammed closed. Daniel dragged him to the bedroom as their tongues and crotches reunited.
Kaiden tasted and breathed Daniel's kiss. Intoxicating. He fell back on his bed and Daniel landed on all fours on top of him. Daniel's heavy hand grabbed Kaiden's face and their tongues latched again with force and need, coaxed by the impending joining of their bodies as one.
Experienced hands glided up inside the legs of Kaiden's shorts. Daniel kneaded his hardening cock with one hand, and petted his entrance with the other through the fabric of his briefs. Kaiden's head fell back. He bent his knees for Daniel to have better access. “Open your eyes. Look at me.” Kaiden did. Daniel's face hovered over his and there was something new. Something Kaiden couldn't decode, that flickered in Daniel's pale green eyes for a second. Then it was gone.
If he were smart, he would have left it there. But he wasn't being much smart lately. He released the bed sheets from his fists and reached up to the loved one's face. He scratched the stubble with his nails, then caressed. “Tell me what you're thinking.” Daniel shushed him. His handling of Kaiden's lower parts turned to torture as his hands slid under the second layer of fabric, and bare flesh met with bare, eager, sensitive flesh. The sparks on Kaiden's skin intensified with Daniel's unwavering gaze. Oh, screw it. He pushed himself up and met Daniel's mouth with one of those kisses meant to tickle the man's...soul.
His fingers traced muscles through Daniel's shirt. He dropped kisses on Daniel's neck and along his throat, as his sneaky hand slid inside Daniel's pants and got hold of the growing shaft. Daniel hissed in Kaiden's hair. His hand copied the movements of Daniel's on Kaiden's member.
