Chapter 13: Simple Kiss

A damage done by mana can only be undone by mana.

Lee Bairong clicked his tongue as he walked in a deserted hallway of the castle having finish in checking every part of it. The castle was abandoned. Half of it was destroyed by what looks like remnants of a bloody fight. Since there are no houses or a village build around it he concluded it was once a Witch's castle. The witch probably died in the fight. Kaunti lang naman ang nasira sa kastilyong ito na kinalalagyan nila, just a few holes here and there and well— dried blood on some walls.

It seems like they got Lady Luck gazing down on them. They were really in need for shelter with that horrible blizzard ongoing outside. The moment Ellie lost her consciousness the wound on her shoulders began to bleed furiously like a damn breaking. It was different from her broken arm before, the wound on her shoulder was infused by someone else's mana. Mukhang masyadong kampante si Jeanne sa sariling niyang kakayahan kaya naman napakadali lang pagalingin ang baling braso ni Ellie noon. But it seems like the one Ellie had fought ay marunong manigurado that even though she managed to escape she'll die with loss of blood.

Halos kalahating oras lang ang lumipas ng magkahiwalay sila ni Ellie at kung ano-ano ng nangyari sa kanya. How the hell is she been living up to until now? Being a trouble magnet and all?

And that actually brought him back to the problem at hand. He managed to extract the mana by using his own (which costs a lot.) He's not a healer dammit! How was he supposed to know how to properly seal a wound?! Mas makakatipid siguro siya sa mana kung tinahi niya na lang ang sugat nito. Damn.

Ngunit hindi pa doon natatapos ang problema niya, may sinat si Ellie. It was only a matter of time magkakalagnat na siya. Of course it's predictable na magkakasakit si Ellie pagkatapos niyang magswimming sa isang lawa at iluwa sa lugar na may nyebe. Who's insane enough to take a swim in a middle of a blizzard? Definitely her.

"Lee?" Out in the lit candles of the room he entered, peek a head of a white tiger. He blinks and saw it was just her on the bed with the overly huge white tiger fur wrapped around her small body. It is one of those furs noble people like to flaunt to others.

Napakunot ang noo ni Lee nang makitang sinusubukan ni Ellie na tumayo at maglakad ng nakapaa. It can't be helped. Her shoes were gone and clothes turned into popsicles considering it was dripping wet when she was catapulted in this place of snow. She was now wearing a plain white silken dress that reek the smell of dust. Samantalang siya ay kuntento na lamang sa pants at sando, not that the cold bothers him.

He speed right in front on her and push a rough palm on her forehead to make her fall back on the various sheets on the bed. Hinalughog lang naman niya ang buong kastilyo para sa mga kumot, kubre kama at makakapal na coat na makita upang hindi maramdaman ni Ellie ang lamig sa labas. Kahit hindi niya gusto ang amoy ng alikabok na bumabalot sa amoy ni Ellie.

She flopped down with a groan. His cyan eyes narrowing into slits and a growl erupted from his throat. "Ilang beses ko bang sasabihin na wag kang tatayo?"

Gusto na niya talagang batukan ito hanggang sa mawalan ulit ng malay at bumalik sa dati. Mula ng magising ito sa dalawang araw na pagkakatulog ay kakaiba na ang mga kinikilos. She keeps on spacing out, her eyes glazing over and over again before blanking, dulling those ambers orbs.

At some point, he got worried that it was just the 'Divine' affecting her pero hindi e' nang sinubukan niyang kausapin ito ay sumagot naman. At tinawag rin naman siya nito sa pangalan niya. She's perfectly sane.

Once again, Lee Bairong clicked his tongue, he can deal with her crying and screaming her guts out but for some unknown reason this—whatever it is she's doing right now—is disturbingly annoying him.
