Chapter 7: It's On

(Lee's POV)

Well, Well, what do we have here? Looks like the kitten had claws.

Despite her short appearance, she sure do know how to jump and spike the ball. Akala ko noong una substitute player lang siya yun pala kasama siya sa first six. 

Not bad for a midget.

“ You're kidding, right?” rinig kong hindi makapaniwalang tanong ni Ray kay Kenneth. Nasa second floor kami ng gym, pinapanood ang practice game nila Ellie.

“ No, I'm not.” Seryoso namang sagot ni Kenneth. Now that's weird, minsan lang magseryoso si Kenneth.

“ What are you two talking about?” I asked, interrupting them. 

Ray looked at me like I have grown three heads  “ Kanina pa kami naguusap dito. Hindi mo man lang narinig?” He asked and I shook my head. Masyado atang nafocus ang atensyon ko sa pandak na pusang iyon.

“ There's a pack of Weres in here, Lee. A feline pack.” serysong saad ni Kenneth. 

“ Oh.” The thought of having a pack of Weres in here, didn't actually faze me. This place is where the Enchanted forest is, so what's to expect?

“ What's with that damn reaction?! I'm a canine, dammit! And this is their territory! Felines are EXTREMELY territorial!” Kenneth practically shout, panic lacing in his voice.

I rolled my eyes at his overeacting before saying, “ So am I.” 

Any violent reaction from him was blocked out by a series of cheering from the crowd. Lamang na naman ang team namin.

“ You should atleast symphatize with him.” Ray sighed as he leaned on the railings. “ So, how's your observation?”

Not sure what to say, I looked at the court where the relaxed and grinning form of Ellie stands. She's fast, too fast for a woman and by the way she flicked her wrist and slammed the ball back like it's the most natural thing in the world, she's quite strong. 

“ Not normal.” Sagot ko na lang sa tanong ni Ray. Right, she's definitely not normal. 

“ Then, malaki ang posibilidad na...”

“ Nah, she won't.” Pagputol ko sa sasabihin niya. 

Kahit gusto ko mang mangyari iyon sa kanya para magkaroon ako ng dahilan para mapatay siya. It's impossible. She'll never turn into a witch. The magical flow in her body is literally low.

The speed and the strength, anyone could achieve that with the right training.

I achieve that when I was young.

“ Oh shit.” Napatingin kami ni Ray kay Kenneth, his body is all tensed up.

“ A feline. There's a feline here.” pagpapatuloy ni Kenneth habang inaamoy amoy ang paligid.

I smirked. Marking their territory, huh? Cats.

“ Saan?” Tanong naman ni Ray, mas normal siya sa aming dalawa ni Kenneth. Ngunit isa siya sa pinakamalakas na spell-caster na alam ko.

“ Tsk. The smell is over the place. And this scent... human blood.” I answered as I survey the place. Malapit na ring matapos ang laro, nasa sub out na rin si Ellie.

Wait, bakit ang putla niya? Parang hirap din siya sa paghinga at tumatagaktak rin ang pawis niya. Pagkakaalam ko hindi ganoon nakakapagod ang larong volleyball. What's wrong with her?
