You had been friends with the members of the Iwatobi Swim Club for a long time now. You've know Haru, Nagisa, and Makoto since grade school, and recently gained a friendship with the beautiful butterfly swimmer Rei. They were a weird bunch, including Gou, but that's what made you love the group even more than you already did.

One interest that you didn't share with the swim team though was swimming in general. You hated water. When you were young you had too many incidents that involved drowning in water. You actually knew how to swim, but you didn't accept that fact and just gave up on swimming altogether.

Now you sat in a chair as you watched the guys swimming around in the pool, doing their laps and whatnot. You chatted with Gou as the practice went on. Nagisa would splash you with water, and you occasionally respond by pouring water on his face or maybe pushing him into the pool. It was all fun and games until somebody loses an eye...

It was about time for practice to be over, the guys were now starting to change into their normal clothes again. As everyone was finally back in their clothes and saying their final goodbyes for the day, Nagisa thought it would be a great time to get his revenge on you for dumping cold water on him earlier.

When you were walking along the side of the pool to the exit Nagisa came charging towards you. You turned just in time to drop your bag and get ready for impact, not knowing the pool was right behind you.

Nagisa arms pushed you backward, causing your body to fly into the cold pool. You didn't know how to swim. It had been ages since you gave up on it. Ever since you've never touched a pool or the ocean.

It was a lot to take in at that moment, your brain only focused on trying to stay above the surface and to make sure you were taking in oxygen. Your body began to sink into the pool and the only thing you could hear was your friend's cries out to you. Now the noise was being muffled by the water.

As you continued to attempt to stay above the surface, your body suddenly gave out. Your head hurt from the sudden exercise, and so did your entire body. Your body just went off like a light switch, and you thought you were going to stay like that forever. You were slowly, yet quickly losing what was left of your oxygen. Your vision started to blur and the hearing in both your ears started to fade away.

Just before you were about to black out, you suddenly felt a force lifting your body. You almost couldn't feel it, and you most definitely couldn't see or hear it. But either way, your eyes closed from the heaviness of the water taking over your body.

Voices were echoing, and a light was beginning to go into your eyes. You could feel your body once again and the voices were becoming clearer. You weren't dead.

"[Your Name]-chan!" a voice called out. As you sat up a body engulfed you in a hug. You were still in shock, surprised you were breathing or even just breathing at the moment.

"Wha...What happened?" you questioned, as your scenery finally came into play. You were in a house, well a bedroom to be exact. You couldn't really identify whose though. Eventually, you realize it was your bedroom, thank God you lived alone. You look over to see the entire swim club basically towering over your body in worry and concern.

"Nagisa-kun had pushed you into the pool. You started to drown and Makoto-senpai helped you out." Rei explained. You looked over at Makoto and he was looking away from you slightly while rubbing the back of his neck. You could tell he was blushing from the redness that grew on his face quickly. You smiled at him kindly, then looked back to Rei, thinking he was going to give you more information. But...

"I'M SO SORRY [Your Name]-CHAN! I FORGOT YOU DIDN'T KNOW HOW TO SWIM! I'M SO SORRY!" Nagisa sobbed into your chest. You sighed and hugged the boy back, wanting him to not feel guilty.

"It's okay Nagisa-kun. I know you didn't mean it, it was an honest mistake that happens to all of us," you told him while rubbing his back for comfort. Nagisa sobs began to grow quieter.

After a while, they guys started to leave, except for Makoto. You looked up at him in confusion, as you waited for you him to say something.

"Not trying to be rude, but why are you still here?" you asked with a slight chuckle. He chuckled softly as well, seeing that it wasn't as awkward as before.

"I'm just worried about you that's all," he explained, smiling at you. You returned the smile and laid down on your oh so familiar bed. You stared at the ceiling for a while before a Makoto came into view.

"I believe I deserve a thanks?" he laughed out.

"Oh, yeah, thanks Makoto." you thanked him with a blush.

"Do I get any reward?" he questioned with a smirk. You just smiled up at him.

You guys were sort of in a weird relationship. You weren't dating, but you were at the same time. He would kiss you on the cheek and you would do the same. He would hold or hand and you would hold his hand as well. But you never really thought of it as anything serious.

You pulled him down by the collar of his shirt with the little strength you had and kissed him softly. He kissed you back in return.

You stayed like that for a while. Just your lips interlocked with his. Nothing rough, just a sweet peaceful kiss.

The kiss ended and your eyes slowly started to close from the exhaustion that still was in your body. The last thing you really remember hearing and seeing is Makoto smiling at you.

 "Sweet dreams..."

Sorry that this one kind of sucked guys! My obsession with Free has recently come back and I don't know if it's healthy or not. I have another book just like this, except it is more open with different fandoms. This book is mostly just for boys that are in animes.
