Kylo remembers Rey

Waiting

Walking behind her I looked down the cliff and saw that we were up really high.
I watched my step and occasionally lost my balance.
Rey though was agile and was a couple feet ahead of me.
She took me to a cave in the side of the cliff with a waterfall running beside it.
We both sat down.

"What do you want to talk about, she said."

"I just wanted to see how you were after I tried to kill you, I said."

"Fine what about you, she said."

"I've missed you, I said."

That felt weird to say.
Now I felt stupid.
She rolled her eyes and smiled but didn't look in my direction.

"Sorry about that scar it's pretty deep isn't it, she said."

"It's healed now so it doesn't matter, I said."

"Tomorrow we have to figure out a plan, she said."

"To stop Snoke, I said."

"Yes but Luke is going to ask you if you want to be the leader of the group and you have to say no, she said."

"Why do I have to say no, I said."

"Ben me and you both know I'm the best leader here and the wiser one, she said."

Cocky much I thought to myself.

"It's not being cocky I just think I'm the best choice, she said."

I forgot she could read my mind.

"Rey whatever you think the best decision is I will go along with it as long as we stop Snoke he is going to kill everyone if someone doesn't demolish him, I said."

"We are going to need more fighters for the resistance, she said."

"We can figure that out some other time I think we both need sleep, I said."

"I think you need more sleep then me, she said."

I held out my hand and helped her up.

"Do you need me to walk back with you, she said."

"I think I can find my way why do you ask, I said."

"I think I'm going to stay out here for just a little while longer this place relaxes me, she said."

"Okay I'll see you tomorrow then, I said."

I walked away. I wanted to kiss her really bad but I didn't know if it was too soon or not.
I stopped for a moment and debated whether or not I should have went back and kissed her.
I went back.
She was dangling her legs off the cliff.
I sat back down beside her and dangled my legs off too.

"I thought you were going back in, she said."

I stopped her and mid sentence and pushed my lips onto hers.
As soon as I did that she pushed me off.

"BEN WHAT ARE YOU DOING, she said."

"I've wanted to kiss you for so long and I couldn't wait another day, I said."

"I don't know if you were thinking I loved you but I was not trying to come off that way, she said."

"I thought you missed me too, I said while standing up."

"I DID but that didn't mean I loved you I was just glad you realized what you did was wrong, she said."

I felt like a fool.

"Sorry Rey I judged wrong, I said angrily as I walked away."

"Ben you've always judged wrong, she said."

I was so mad I kicked every single rock in the pathway off the side of the cliff.
I didn't know how she couldn't except that I loved her.
But she didn't care.
When I walked back in the hut I turned my key and slammed the door shut.
It probably woke everyone up.
I laid down on the bed backwards and fell asleep.
Then there was a knock on my door.
I swear I never got any sleep.

"WHAT, I said while still laying on the bed."

"Shhhhhhhh"

I couldn't tell who it was because of how thick the doors were.
I swung the door open and it was Rey.

"We are done for tonight goodbye, I said while swinging the door shut."

She put her foot in the way to keep it from not shutting.

"Ben I don't want to hurt your feelings I just want to tell you I do love you and I care for you but I can't show it right now with all that's going on it's too much for me, she whispered."

I understood her point of view and opened the door a little more so I could see her face.

"I honestly hadn't thought about that but that is probably the best choice, I said."

"Also I didn't want to start anything in case one of us dies in the end, she said."

Okay that made me feel weird.

"Rey your not going to die, I said."

"Think about it Ben you know me, you, and Luke are the only people that are capable of stopping Snoke, she said."

"Your not going to die Rey your strong and independent something that I lack sometimes."

She smiled and leaned in and kissed me on the side of my face where the scar was.

"You know this is going to be horrible for me to wait on you, I said."

"Patience only makes you stronger KYLO REN, she said as she laughed and turned the key to her door."

"Goodnight Ben, she said."
