When Jedi, General, and keeper-of-the-peace Luke Skywalker dies, so does the spirit of peace and justice. Now lead by iron-fisted Ran Clargin, the New Republic is once again on a path to dictatorship. In an act to end any and all mutiny, he banishes all the Jedi. Sadly, some Jedi were killed because of their persistence in trying to stay. Young Rebel Atarah Star Killer’s mother was a victim of such a tragedy. This catastrophe has turned her into an orphan due to her father's death. Now frustrated with the New Republic, she commits rebellious acts of vandalism and harassment to soldiers. But on the anniversary of her mother's death, she commits one crime that goes too far…
