Garnet's POV (five days later):
I was laying in my hospital bed, listening to music. I closed my eyes an let the music take me away. It felt good, to be swept away by the beat and taken to a whole other world. One without pain or tears. One where it's just you and the music.
???: "garnet...Garnet...Garnet!"
Dammit, I fell asleep. And now I'm not gonna wanna get up.
I stirred a bit. I heard my name being called, but I really didn't want to get up. Especially by someone else. What ever they need, can wait. I felt my shoulder shake a bit. I let out a groan and opened my eyes. Micah was standing next to the bed with a smile on his face. He had a big ziplock bag with clothes in it. I took out my earbuds and turned to where I was facing Micah. I yawned and rubbed my eyes.
Garnet: "What the hell do you want?"
Micah: "Whoa. Someone's in a grouchy mood."
Garnet: "You woke me up...what were you expecting?"
Micah chuckled and I smiled.
Garnet: "So. What's up?"
I sat up right in bed and wrapped by earbuds around my phone.
Micah: "Well, the doctor says you can go home now."
Garnet: "Really?"
The doctor comes in with a clipboard and smiles. He flips a few pages and looks back at me.
Doctor: "Yep. You're all set to go. You're healing well, and I think you're ready to go home. You feel ok enough to leave?"
Garnet: "Absolutely!"
Doctor: "Great! I'll send a nurse to get you out of these wires, you can get changed, and you just need to go down to the front desk and sign a few papers and get your painkillers."
Garnet: "Ok. Thank you so much."
Doctor: "I'm just glad to see you up and running again. Well, have a good day."
Garnet: "Bye!"
Micah took handed me the bag. It had a change of clothes and shoes in it. I smiled.
Micah: "Though you might want a new change of clothes for when you got out."
Garnet: "Thank you."
I opened my arms and welcomed Micah's warmth. After a moment I heard a knock on the door. Micah and I let go to see a nurse at the door.
Nurse: "Knock, knock! You ready to get out of these wires?"
Garnet: "Ready as I'll ever be."
The nurse walked over to me and started pressing buttons on machines and unhooking all of my wires. Once she was done and had left, I slowly stood up from the bed. I was ready to start walking again. But, then again, it's been 3 weeks since I last felt the floor. There's no telling how this will go.
I held on to the railing on the bed for support as I took a step. Ok, so far so good. I let go of the railing and took another step. My legs wobbled and I fell forward. I felt Micah's string arms wrap around me.
Garnet: "I got it." I took a deep breath. "I can do this."
Micah slowly let me go as I steadied myself. The first few steps were wobbly. But, I'd started to get the hang of it. After a while of practice, my walking was (somewhat) back to normal. I took the clothes into the bathroom to get changed. I could've taken a shower, but I decided to just take one when I got home. I untied the green dress in the back and let it drop onto the floor. I looked back up into the mirror and saw my Nana's necklace around my neck. I gasped as everything Justin said came back to me. There was a knock on the door. Micah called from behind the door.
