Still Garnet's POV (1 week later):

The next morning, Micah picked me up from home and walked me to school. I ran down the stairs, with my backpack and phone in hand. Racing through the kitchen, I grabbed an apple, grabbed the lunch I'd packed the night before, gave my mom a hug, and met Micah outside my door.

Garnet: "Hey."

Micah: "Hey."

Micah planted a small kiss on my temple before intertwining our fingers. We set off down the street. As we passed, I heard people whispering and staring. Yep, 7 days and people still talk about it. It came on the news one night last week. They reported about how I was alive and back at home and how no one had seen the shooter since. We got to school after a while of walking. No one stared at me as if I was a ghost anymore, but sometimes I'd still hear them whisper. Micah and I walked down the halls and towards our lockers. Before we got to my locker, there was a crashing sound. Everybody's heads whipped around.

???: "This is all your fault!"

I turned to see what'd happened. Some guys, I think his name was Trent, was standing above Justin. He had Justin's shirt balled up in his fists, pinning him to the lockers. Justin winced and groaned at the pain from the hard contact. Trent was breathing heavily and his face was tomato red.

Trent: "If you hadn't been so damn selfish, we wouldn't be in this shit!"

Justin didn't say anything. He just sat there and let it all happen, with a guilty expression on his face

Trent took a hand from Justin's shirt and punched him in the stomach and let his shirt go. Justin's eyes shut and he groaned in pain. He fell on his back, landing on the ground.

Ben: "Your'e gonna pay for this."

He walked away, leaving Justin on the ground. Justin held stomach and kept groaning at the pain. I let go of Micah's hand, walked over to where Justin was laying, and hovered over him.

Garnet: "Hurts doesn't it?"

He groaned again.

Justin: "Like a bitch."

Garnet: "Guess you know what it feels like now."

I stuck my hand out for him to take. At first, he looked at it with suspicion.

Garnet: "Well? You want help or not?"

He took my hand hesitantly and I helped him up. After he was up, he dusted himself off and looked back at me. He opened his mouth, as if to say something, but the bell cut him off.

Garnet: "Try not to get your ass beat. Ok?"

I walked back over to Micah and took his hand in mine again as we walked to our next class.

The rest of the day went by without a problem. I know Justin deserves anything and everything he's getting. The neglect, the hits, the bullying. But, I kinda feel bad for him. I don't exactly know why, I just do.

On the way home, it started to rain and neither  me nor Micah had an umbrella. So, Micah gave me his jacket to hold over my head as we ran towards my house. I was a little wet when we arrived, but Micah was drenched in water. I tried to offer him an umbrella or something, but he just kissed me goodbye and ran home with his jacket.

The next morning, Micah called sneezing and sniffling. I got up and dressed a little early so that I could go over to his house to check on him. After I got ready and headed out the door, I went over to Micah's. I took the spare key from under the potted plant and opened the door. Micah was laying sprawled out on the couch with one leg hanging off he side. He had on a plain white t-shirt, grey sweatpants and a pair of socks. His nose and ears were red and he a few beads of sweat on his forehead. There were two boxes of tissue sitting next to him. One empty and one full, with a trash can of used tissues next to them.
