Garnet's POV:
Justin: "Well, thanks for the help but you can go home now."
I took out my phone out and sent my mom a quick text.
To: Mom
Staying for study hall. I'll be home soon. If Micah comes by tell him I'll be home later.
Almost instantly she replied back.
From: Mom
Ok. Be home before dinner though.
I looked back up at Justin who was looking at me in confusion.
Garnet: "I know I can go home now. But, instead I'm gonna be a somewhat good person and help you."
Justin: "Help me do what?"
Garnet: "Stop the blood coming from your face before it ruins your shirt. Come on."
I grabbed my backpack and started walking back around the school. I turned around and realized that Justin was still standing there dumbfounded.
Garnet: "If you don't come on, I really am gonna go home and that blood's gonna stain your shirt."
He blinked before grabbing his own backpack and catching up with me. We walked back into the school and led him to the nurses office. The light was turned off and the door was locked. I dropped my backpack and bent down to search through it. Eventually, I found a paperclip and unbent half of it. Then, I stuck the paperclip into the keyhole and started to jiggle it around.
Justin: "Do you hear that?"
I stopped what I was doing and listened.
Garnet: "Hear what?"
Justin: "It sounded like footsteps."
I listened a few second longer before shaking my head and going back to unlocking the door.
Garnet: "You're just hearing things."
I was glad that the nurse had already left. I really didn't feel like explaining to her that Justin got beat up. She'd go off and tell the principle and I'd be caught up in a whole mess of trouble as a "witness". At this point I don't want the spotlight always on me. I was perfectly fine were I was. All the attention is slowly starting to simmer down. And getting caught up in whatever he did to Trent would just bring me back to the surface.
Once I got the door unlocked, I walked through the door and waited for Justin to come in before closing it behind him. He sat on the green bed as I went over to the medicine cabinet and got what I needed to help Justin.
As I did this, I felt a sense of deja vu. Remember when Micah got into that fight with Justin and we came here? Yeah. Same thing here, except this time I'm sorta helping the 'enemy'. If Micah finds out, he'll freak. But, thanks to my good morals (Note sarcasm), I'm gonna end up helping him out one way or another. Whether he deserves it or not. I guess as long as no one tells Micah I was helping him, he won't know, right?....just to be safe, don't answer that.
I walked back over to Justin with the alcohol, cotton swab, Neosporin, and band-aid. I dipped the cotton swab into then alcohol and took Justin's chin in my hand.
Garnet: "This is gonna hurt, a lot. So speak now or forever hold your peace."
He nodded before I started to wipe the blood from the cut under his eye.
Justin: "Ow!"
Garnet: "Sorry."
I continued to clean up his bloodied face, and put Neosporin and a band-aid on the cut above his eyebrow. I threw away the cotton swabs and went to put the alcohol and Neosporin away. As I was putting everything up, I felt Justin's hand wrap around my wrist. I whipped around to face him.
